My younger son's first paid detail

My younger boy is already back at his Mom's in northern Kentucky and he asked me for some detailing stuff to take back so he could do exterior details in his neighborhood to suppliment his income as a cashier at Food Lion. You see, he has a steady girlfriend...

Anyway, he washed it with Optimum Car Wash and waxed it with #16. He forgot his digital camera so all he got was this cell phone pic. Must be nice, an S2000. The first car I got paid to detail was an oxidized late 80's Nissan Sentra.

He forgot to bring some polish but I am ordering him some Prime and Acrylic Jett because that is what he wants to use on his own car. Right now, he is just washing and waxing. Supposed to do a Corvette this week too.

It is owned by a friend of his Mom's so he only charged her $20, said it took just over an hour to wash and wax it. Now the price goes to $40 for a wash and wax and another $20 to polish it too. He lives in a small town so he has to price accordingly. Still, if he makes $20 an hour on average living at home, that isn't bad for a high school senior. He might add interior detailing too but he needs a wet vac first.

Awesome. I'd be proud. I've been taking my 11 year old with me and training him. If he makes it in this heat he'll be good.
I had an S2000 just like that.....before I got married!

Good deal for him Scott .. I live in a small town too and have to charge accordingly. The 5 Series BMW I just posted a couple days back in addition to the polishing the interior was cleaned .. windows .. trunk .. engine wiped down .. tires .. seaalnt on wheels etc and it was $160. And 4.5 hours and I paid my helper $45 .. so there were 2 of us

I wouldn't say either of my boys really love detailing but both are pretty good at it and know the money is decent. I doubt either will take over for me when I decide to retire.
