Bright Red GTS Viper

This car is a 1997 with about 12,000 miles on it. The car was in decent shape overall, but was in dire need of a good detail. The paint was very dull with lots of light to medium scratches throughout the entire car from being washed so many times. There was absolutely no wax on the car, so the paint lacked any shine/gloss. I have to say that the paint was very easy to work with. The exterior took less time than I expected it would. I decided to try Hyper Compound for the first time and I must say that it's a great product. It cuts very nicely with hardly any hazing and no dusting at all. I'm so mad at myself that I didn't take any before pictures, because it was a huge turnaround from what it looked like before. Oh well!

My process:

Washed exterior & cleaned engine compartment

Buffed complete exterior with Hyper Compound using a foam cutting pad

Buffed complete exterior with Optimum Polish mixed with a little bit of Moose Glaze using a foam finishing pad

Werkstatt's prime by hand

Pink Wax by hand

Souveran by hand

Polished wheels & exhaust tips with Wicked metal polish

Here are the results:

Dressed tires & wheel wells with Super Blue dressing

I agree about Hyper, really good compound with no dusting. How are your hybrid polishes working out for you? Visually, they seem to be pretty darn good.

Great work Rick. Hard to beat Souveran on red.

Looks like someone got a star filter for their camera.

Rick,

Have you ever used the SSR line? If so, would the HC be the equivalent of SSR 3 and OP the equivalent of SSR 2.5?

I am LOVING those results and wondering what I "need" to order from Autogeek this time around (its become a nearly weekly event. )
