Pair of G35 coupes with 106/RMG combo, my brother's Hemi and a new F-250

2004 Dodge Ram Hemi. It was my brother's birthday (actually, just the family get-together, he is actually an April Fool's child! ) and I figured I'd wax his fairly new truck. I had hoped to go with the Werkstatt twins but he showed up late and I had about 40 minutes to clean it and wax it before dinner. He'd ran it though a tunnel wash the day before and it was still reasonably clean so I knocked the dust off with Clearkote's Quikshine and then waxed it with Optimum Car Wax. Only a few pics, his truck was boxed in and I finished when dinner was ready. Took these and went in and had some BBQ from Sonny Bryants.

2006 Ford F-250. So new, I was the first one to vacuum it! The paint was in really good shape so I used Jeff Werkstatt's Prime with a blue Propel finishing pad and sealed with Acrylic Jett by hand.

2003 Infiniti G35. Second time I have done this one. The paint on the aftermarket front fenders isn't that great, noticably more orange peel and some hazing I can't seem to completely remove. Other than that, the car is in excellent condition.

I used a 70/30 mixture of Menzerna 106FF and Clearkote's Red Machine Glaze with a white Lake Country polishing pad. Adding RMG added some depth and cut down on the dusting, although not completely. Here are some shots after just using 106/RMG:

After topping with Poorboy's EX w/carnauba. I chose EX because it looks awesome on black and it attracts the least amount of dust compared to my other favorites on black. With pollen still in the air and the car being black, EX gives it the best shot to look good without excessive dust and pollen build-up.

Still can't get the fenders quite perfect but way better than when I first saw the car.



Despite shooting in the bright sun, the paint still looks deep, rich and wet. The 106/RMG combo had a lot to do with it...great suggestion, RAG!

2004 Infiniti G35. 11,000 miles on it, customer had been looking for the car for a long time. Red, 6 speed, Brembo brakes. Found it on Ebay, flew to Florida Friday night, drove it back on Saturday and I was out Sunday morning to polish it up.

I have been taking care of cars for this particular customer about 12 years now but hadn't done anything for him for a couple of years. He had been driving a Toyota T100 and just didn't love it enough to do much more than wash it himself. He was unaware then, that I was now using a buffer (Porter Cable) and he seemed a bit worried. Previous bad experiences from dealers and body shops. I explained how it worked and he seemed less aprehensive but still asked me to not do anything really aggressive. Interestingly, the car's paint was base coat/clear coat-except the mirrors. Huh?

Despite only 11,000 miles on this car, it was pretty heavily spider swirled (should have taken some befores!) but I promised to go as light as possible on the car. Said he preferred to have me just keep after them each time I wax it. I ended up going with Meguiars DACP and a Meguiars polishing pad as my first step. Did a pretty good job on the swirls and after checking it in the sun, there wasn't any hazing either. No rotary swirls (of course) hopefully reasured my customer too.

I then went with the 106/RMG combo using an LC polishing pad and buffed off with Optimum Car Wax. At the owner's request, I topped it with Pinnacle Souveran.

As you can see, the finish isn't 100% swirl free but it is a massive improvement over what I started with. Honestly, it came out better than I expected. The next polish/wax session should get 'em.



Like the other G35, I was happy to see how deep and wet the finish turned out even in full on sunshine.

The black on both the Ford and the G35 looks great! The G35 is very wet looking...

Now my favorite is the red G35 I love the way the car looks in red and having it freshly polished by the master is even better

I bet you were happy that the previous owner removed the INFINITI badges from the trunk, huh? I always seem to snag my good towels on those darn things!!

As soon as I am back on my feet 100% I have to complete mine.

Scott-yeah the "Infiniti" lettering is a towel killer. So is the "Acura" on the early '00s TLs. Those A's are brutal!

The interior of the red G is absolutely pristine. It still smells new inside!

I bet it is. I prefer the black interior over the wheat though.

Great job! Seeing as you have one, or two .....or 5000 more details under your belt than me, how do you late the clearcoat hardness on the G? I have a G and find it to be VERY soft. It does not seem as soft as the new Toyota stuff (worked on an 06 4Runner, fingerprints would leave scratches) but seems much harder than the stuff on my Italian cars. Any insight?

I have not yet put an abrasive polish on my G (06, 1400 miles) as I have only used AIO to get it cleaned up from delivery. When I polish in a few months if needed, I was thinking I would use FPII. Does that sounds about right for a non-marred G?

I had someone do that last month, they came from Florida to NY to come and pick up my 03 Audi A4 1.8t.

The rmg mix looks great. Just as you mentioned dusting is considerably less. All the cars you completed look killer though

Wow that red G35 looks freaking wet and rest of the ride are hawt aswell
Talking about picking up car from one state to another. I think JDookie picked up his 2005 BMW 3 series at Ga and he live in La? Thats last year or so....correct if wrong.

Back to the topic, wow 45min to wax that beast... If was me, it probably take 90min.
