The silver pops and looks wet at the same time. That came out really nice.

2000 Chevy Corvette. Probably end up getting a rotary if I start doing this insanely hard clear coat 'Vettes.
The swirls weren't really that bad, heck, the customer said he never really noticed until I pointed them out. It hadn't even been waxed (that he could remember) since I did it back in 2003 with S100 Paint Cleanser and S100 Paste, so I was suprised it looked halfway decent. It had been a while since I had detailed a Corvette, the horror stories about their paint hardness are definitely true!
I started off with Clearkote's Compound using a Meguiars burgandy cutting pad on the horizontal surfaces. Removed around 80% of the swirls. Followed with Optimum Hyper Compound using a yellow Lake Country cutting pad on the whole car. Got out another 10-15% of the swirls...and even with such aggressive initial steps, after Hyper, the paint looked practically LSP ready in the direct sun (which turned into hazy sunshine by the time I finished polishing). I then went over the whole car with a 50/50 mix of Optimum's Polish and Compound with a white LC polishing pad and sealed the paint with Meguiars NXT Paste using a blue Propel finishing pad.

I love how your 99 looks like it rolled off the showroom floor. Amazing, as usual.

Funny thing is, my brother is the one who initially bought the car. He took great care of it mechanically but not cosmetically. Over the last 2.5 years, I have about 35 hours of polishing into it. When I washed it after detailing my brother's Odyssey, he couldn't get over how different it looked from when he had it.
Too bad the leather on the driver's seat isn't holding up though.

Scott, I bet your brother wishes he had the 626 back even though his van looks great.
Good old vette clear, don't you just love it. It came out really nice!
I'm sure you know about the deal that coastal tools has on the hitachi rotary. Not bad at all for under $105 shipped.

Has anyone else noticed that the wheels on the Odyssey and the 626 look almost the same?

All the while I thought AJ looks great on black but after seeing all the silver cars you did with AJ, it seems like AJ works very well with both dark and light colour cars. Great job as always .

Looks great and nice work, Scott!!!
I feel your pain with working C5 clearcoat. Great for looks and marring resistance but heck to work with if you let blemishes accumulate.
