Torch Red C5 Corvette

This was my detail for this morning. This car was just traded in and needed some serious attention. I don't think the car has ever been waxed or polished in its life. Tons of swirls & holograms as you can see from the pictures. When I took the before pictures the sun was out, but by the time I was done it got really overcast so the after pictures don't really show how good it came out. It's hard to tell how good it came out from the pics, but in person it is absolutely glowing. If the sun is out on Tuesday I will try and take a couple more pics and post them up.

My process:

Wahed exterior, wheel & engine compartment

Buffed exterior w/ SSR2.5 by rotary with cutting pad

Buffed exterior w/ Optimum polish by rotary with finishing pad

Hand application of EX

Hand application of Natty's Blue

BEFORES:

AFTERS:

Yet another in a long line of great RickRack details. Rick, every Corvette you get in there seems to be pretty beat up at least in Autopian terms. One question, did you polish the exhaust tips? They look a little dull in one picture, but they're in a shadow as well so that may be what I'm seeing.

nice looking detail. That is pretty much what the Corvette red looks like when you don't keep up with it. I know mine gets like that from time to time when I don't have the time to really get my hands dirty with the detail.

Nice work, Rick. You had your hands full with those swirls.

BTW, don't you just hate taking before shots and lose the sun before you can get to the after shots?
