Revisiting an E55/My test sealant

Did this E55 some time ago and the owner bought some new wheels and tires for it so he called me out to clean her up a bit.

New wheels are fantastic, they really bring a new look to an already beautiful car. I started out with a wash, cleaning of the wheels and tires, wheel wells and lower panels. Had to remove some tar and gum from driver side lower panels.

Used my Cyclo with OCP and white pads as the paint was in decent shape, just some light marring. After I did the hood and the driver side fender I applied my "beta" sealant to the hood. This is the sealant that David from Optimum and I have been working on and I am pretty excited about it as it will be my formula which is uber-cool

We had some issues with previous beta samples but I think we may have taken care of those issues as I am not having any streaking problems with this sample. It's application is unique in that you just wipe it on and watch it evaporate. There is no residue to wipe away. Slickness is at this time absent and that's what we need to work on next but the durability of it is just insane.

After the sealant application I polished the wheels, door jams, polished the exhaust pipes and did the windows. Detailed the trunk area, wiped out the engine bay, vacuumed the interior, cleaned the seats, dash, door panels and dressed the leather and then polished the interior faux wood.

Here are a few pictures, only AFTER shots.

I'll be doing a few more cars with this sealant in the coming days. Ron and I hope to use it on a black car to see if the streaking issues are truely resolved.

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone

Nope, all new wheels and rubber.

The stock wheels are a different pattern if I'm not mistaken.

The new sealant sounds very interesting. It would be quite an enhancement to not have to wait for a sealant to dry or spend time removing it. Please keep us informed of the progress.

The car looks awesome! I like the AMG badge on the hood, makes it more authentic looking. The wheels look really good with the matching paint. When I read this thread title, I pictured a silver e55 with BBS LM wheels. But this one will do.

Sweet looking car! Paint looks really good too.

Interesting sealant application. Apply and that's it.

Those are the SL/S/CL-65 wheels. Gorgeous!

Nice work, Anthony! I think the look of this "beta" sealant is excellent, very wet. It reminds me of an FK product I use. The application sounds to be very simple and definately a time saver. I am interested in hearing more.

I don't know about everyone else, but I would LOVE a sealant that took away the last buffing step.

Car looks excellent.
