Jet black BMW M5 detail

My buddy just bought this 2000 BMW M5 a couple days ago and brought it to me for "the treatment". Overall the car was in good shape for a 6 year old car but there was some swirls in the paint and some minor scratches and chips that needed some touch up paint.

My process: I clayed the entire car, washed the exterior and cleaned the engine compartment, treated the wheels with Michelin brake dust repellent, buffed the entire car with Menzerna IP by rotary with a yellow foam pad and followed behind with Optimum polish by rotary with a white foam pad. Hand application of AIO followed by EX w/carnauba. I left the vehicle in the garage over night and hand applied a coat of Natty's Blue.

This was my first black vehicle I have done using Optimum polish so I wasn't sure how it would come out. The following morning when I brought the car in the direct sunlight it was absolutely dripping wet without a single swirl mark in the paint. Needless to say I am very happy with the results.

Great job - that hood looks incredible. He's lucky he was able to find a 6 year old M5 in such realitvely good shape to begin with, hardly any swirling which is awesome.

Your job really makes it stand out, though. Thumbs up!

That's a great job! I bought a Carbon Black M5 this summer and spent a week getting the paint to where I wanted it.
