Latest details™ v.Red cars that start with the letter "F"

1998 Pontiac Firebird. Last one (for now) at the law office with no shade. Cloudy day though, rare summer cool front, I think we only hit the mid 80s.

The exterior wasn't too bad but the interior was. Lots of spills around the console and a bottle of nail polish was busted and stuck between the console and passenger front seat. Fun. Without removing the seat, there was no way to completely remove the mess but the boss wasn't paying for any extras-small wonder since he paid for 10 details as it was. Anyway, it cleaned up better than I initially expected. Woolite/water to clean, Armor All to dress.

Before shot-not even washed.

After washing and then polishing with Clearkote's Vanilla Moose and a Meguiars polishing pad.

Then after topping with Poorboy's EX w/carnauba. Not a huge difference (shows that prep is the most important step) but the camera really can't pick up the improvement in depth.

The sun peaked out for a second...

1996 Ferrari 348 Spider. Regular customer, although since he now rarely drives the 348, I don't see it too often. Haven't done anything but wash it a few times a year for a couple years, been at least two since it was waxed. Single stage paint as well.

This is after polishing the right side of the hood with Optimum polish and a Meguiars polishing pad. The left side is untouched. I got some minor hazing-the paint seems real soft on this car.

I did the whole hood (had some rotary swirls from a dealer detail-was going to trade it in, dealer never made an offer but had it detailed a few years ago) with Optimum then the whole car with Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze using a Meguiars polishing pad, then again with Vanilla Moose and a Meguiars polishing pad. The pads got very red, really took off a lot of dead paint-although in the before shot, the paint really didn't look too oxidized.

Anyway, I topped with EX w/carnauba since it really looks excellent on red paint. I have more pics but I had to change rolls after these two, so it will be maybe a week before I post the rest.

Change your settings and take a look Joe, it's worth it.
Scott do you normally get micro marring with the Optimum? Great job photographing the micro marring by the way. Stunning details as usual.
