Dark Blue 01' Porsche Boxter

This was my detail for today. I work at a car dealership and this is my managers car. He commutes to work roughly 100 miles a day so the entire front of the car is covered in stone chips from all the highway driving. On top of that, when he hired someone to paint his deck and got white paint all over the hood and side panels of the car and has been on there for months.

I spent about 3 1/2 hours claying it to get all the paint off. I used Pinnacle Poly Clay which worked ok. I probably could have used something a little more agressive because it didn't come off too easy. I used some of my new Menzerna products on it. First I buffed it by rotary with Intensive Polish followed by Final Polish 2 and sealed it with AIO topped with a little S100.

When I brought it back to the dealership was amazed how good it came out. I'm trying to convince my manager to repaint the front of the car and purchase a 3M clear bra for the front of it.

Here are the befores:

You can see in one of the pics all the white paint on the hood.

That may just be the most badly swirled car I've ever seen. You did a very nice job!

Nice job but Pinnacle is hands down the worst clay I have used. The new Sonus clay is really good.

I wasn't very impressed with the Pinnacle clay, but it's all I had and the car was a last minute job. I'll have to try the new Sonus clay.

Looks like you got quite a bit of clay marring comparing the prewashed and post washed pics.

Yeah, the clay really marred the paint even more because of the amount of paint that collected in the bar. It did buff out pretty easily considering how bad it was. It's a very nice blue when the sun hits it.
