Supercharged '10 Camaro, TL headlights, Civic, couple of Pilots
2010 Camaro with a supercharger. It has already run a wheel hop limited 12.3 @ 118 mph.
The owner does a pretty good job of maintaining his car himself but was a bit leery of claying the paint. I clayed as I washed, using Optimum No Rinse and Opti-Clay. I then polished the car with Meguiars #205 and a yellow Meguiars polishing pad using my Meguiars G110 RO polisher. The only swirls on the car were on the trunk lid, knocked them down significantly using heavy pressure and a speed of 6. Due to the work being done on Halloween and the owner having a young son who was waiting impatiently for trick-or-treat time to begin, this job wasn't meant to be a full correction anyway. After polishing, I added a coat of Opti-Seal.
Not sure why my camera has such a tough time with silver paint in the shade, no matter what setting I use, it never comes out right. Too much traffic to pull the car out in the street for pictures, but the owner said he'd take some with his new Nikon D90, I'll add them to the thread if I get the pictures.

2000 Acura TL, 2006 Honda Pilot and 2007 Honda Civic. Originally I was just supposed to take care of the Pilot and Civic but the owner's parents-in-law were there with the Acura and wanted to know if I could fix the hazy headlights.
I wetsanded them with Meguiars Unigrit 2000 wetsanding paper.
I then polished out the wetsanding marks with an orange Soft Edge Cutting pad, Meguiars #105 and my Dewalt 849 rotary, then switched to a yellow Meguiars polishing pad and finished them off with #205/yellow pad combo. I sealed them with Optimum Opti-Coat.
2006 Honda Pilot. As expected with a white Honda, no clear coat. C'mon guys, get with the program. Wasn't as faded as most I've seen but the hood needed some extra work. Used Meguiars D151 using my G110 and a yellow Meguiars polishing pad, took three times over the hood to get rid of the oxidation. After every pass, I had to turn the G110 on and run a damp towel over the pad to remove the oxidized paint I was pulling from the finish. The paint was sealed with Opti-Seal.
Same process with the Civic, D151/yellow and Opti-Seal.
The trunk lid was in the sun, as you can see, the paint was pretty much swirl free. I've seen several Hondas like this, usually either silver or gold. Not sure why those two colors seem to resist swirling as well as they do.

Re: Supercharged '10 Camaro, TL headlights, Civic, couple of Pilots
2010 Honda Pilot. Owner traded in an '08 Accord in for the Pilot. He and his wife recently had a baby and needed more room than the Accord had to offer. In addition to all the baby stuff, he is an avid road biker.
As expected, no clear coat. Hello! Honda! It's 2009, clear coat your white paint.
The car was about 95% swirl free, except for part of the passenger side of the hood. Someone tried to fix something using a rotary and no clue. Left hologramsm marring, some odd film and pigtails.
I used my Dewalt rotary along with Meguiars #105 and a yellow Meguiars polishing pad. Took 3 total passes at 1200-1400 rpms. This is some HARD paint as #105 left zero holograms. Still followed with #205/yellow polishing pad at 1200-1500 rpms, finishing at 1000 rpms and light pressure.
The other side of the hood was swirl free:
I then went over the whole vehicle with Meguiars #205 and a yellow Meguiars polishing pad with my G110 and sealed the paint with Opti-Seal. I also washed his wife's Acura RDX and his Mom's Mercedes E350 but I've posted both in the past.

So it is a single stage paint, instead of a base coat + clear coat system?

Amazing work on all of them! I especially like the Camaro, considering the pinch for time you were under.
What is your method for applying Opti-Seal? Do you ever find the need to make a quick pass with an MF towel over the car after applying?

You got it. Detailed a white '08 Camry and it didn't have a clear coat either.
kavalThis is exactly how I apply OS. Very, very rare I ever have to go back with an MF and remove anything.
Bad03xtreme-not Andy.

Re: Supercharged '10 Camaro, TL headlights, Civic, couple of Pilots
Great work Scott. That Camaro is a beauty. With a 12.3 I'm guessing he was on stock tires? On a set of DRs he should easily be 11's with that blower.

Re: Supercharged '10 Camaro, TL headlights, Civic, couple of Pilots
Nice work Scott, as always.
I didn't realize Honda and Toyota were still doing single stage paints. I thought everything new was clear coat these days (at least in non-exotics). Guess I'm showing my ignorance.
Do they only do single stage on white? If so, what's the logic behind that?
Are other major manufacturers still doing single stage paints too?

Hey...I think thats "Crowley's" camaro from Camaro5.com? Does it have
a magnaflow exaust? I see it's got a "ADM" cold air intake. Gotta be him.
Looks good by the way.
