1993 Nissan Skyline, Suzuki 750 GSX-R

1993 Nissan Skyline GT, repainted a while back, otherwise it appears to be very original. The repaint is good enough for local shows, but not show quality. Several areas looked pretty hazy and the backend had some overspray.

The headlights were in pretty bad shape as you can see by the before shots.

I used Meguiars Uni-Grit 2000 wetsanding paper, followed by Meguiars #105 and an orange Soft Edge cutting pad via rotary, then when I was going around the car polishing, I went over them again with #105 and a Meguiars yellow polishing pad and #205 with a yellow Meguiars pad (both via rotary).

I had a hard time picking up the light to moderate spider swirls on the car, this is about the best before shot...

After the Meguiars #105/yellow @ 1000-1200 rpms and #205/yellow at 1400-1600 rpms, finishing with light pressure at 1000 rpms.

I followed with 3M Ultrafina using a blue Ultrafina pad at 1000-1800-1000 rpms and finally, for the first time since last Thursday (today is Wednesday), the sun came out. These pictures are after UF but before waxing.

I finished the paint off with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose. The exhaust was polished with Optimum Metal Polish.

Looks great, Scott. Did you seal the lights with Opti-Seal?

I cleaned the vinyl with 20:1 dillution of water to Woolite HE and the carpet and seats with a 32:1 dillution of water to BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner. Vinyl was dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus.

Engine was pretty clean but I figured y'all want to see it

Owner of the Skyline has some nice toys in the garage....

Going back next week to finish that 1972 Porsche (got one side polished) and the GT-R. He also has a Supra Turbo that needs some attention and a Lamborghini Countach that is waiting on some parts that I should be detailing in a few weeks.

Suzuki 750 GSX-R. Not a daily rider (mostly a track bike) so the fact I did it on a drizzly, ugly day wasn't an issue. Wasn't very dirty, no problems gettiing it clean with Optimum No Rinse. Paint was somewhat soft, I was able to remove the vast majority of the light spider swirls and scuffs using my Meguiars G110 DA polisher, #205 and a yellow Meguiars polishing pad. I followed with Clearkote's Pink Moose and a blue Soft Edge finishing pad and waxed with Carnauba Moose. Exhaust was polished with Optimum Metal Polish.

Just waxed them with CMW. Car is only driven about 1000 miles a year now and garage kept. It just had never been detailed before.
