Toyota Matrix

This customer lives near Sacramento in Elk Grove where they have the hardest water in the world!! It's horrible out there for people who care about their cars. He brought the car to me, to see if there was anything that could be done, and I clayed and polished a spot and all it did was make the spots shiny! I told him that the only other option was to try wetsanding. We tried a spot, polished it out and all the water spots were gone. He booked the detail and showed up the next weekend.

Process:
Wash w/Dawn
Clayed
wiped down w/IPA
wetsanded all the affected areas
Washed w/Dawn again
Had some trouble figuring out which polish to use. SIP wasn't removing all of the sanding marks so I had to go with OC. Which of course meant a second stage of polishing.
Second stage was done with SSR1
Topped w/DG #105
AW x 2
Headlights were wetsanded and polished w/SIP

Re: Toyota Matrix

This is my Wife's Matix and I found Mike using Autopia when he replied to a post asking for help. I can't express how overjoyed with the results of his work. The pictures don't do justice to the way the car looks and my wife's pride of ownership has returned!

Mike put in a ton of work and probably didn't charge me enough for this. He's also been extremley helpful giving advise on the Matrix as well as my Civic Si which he'll probably be doing sooner than later since my wife's 5 year old Matrix now shines more than my 3 month old Si.

My only regret is not having him detail the interior along with the exterior. I've been meaning to do it myself but with a child on the way in less than 2 months I've been busy working on the house every weekend.

On a side note, I'm having sprinkler guards installed near our driveway so this won't happen again!

Thanks Mike!!!!

Re: Toyota Matrix

Hey joe_sun!!

It was my pleasure to take car of your car! After meeting you and your wife it made me want to work even harder. The interior probably wouldn't take much work if you want to cruise it by one day! I will text you and we can try to figure it out.

Thanks for the kind words!! Glad that your HOA stepped up and took care of the sprinkler problem!!!
