Accord Hybid 2 hour detail, 2009 BMW Z4

I had a regular customer call me up the other day around 10:45 AM wanting to know if I had time to clean up her Accord. Morning customer had canceled due the high probability of rain so I told her I could be at her house in about 30 minutes. She said that would be fine with her, she wanted me to wash and wax her car and clean the interior-then she said she needed to leave by 1:30 PM.

I get to her house and the Accord is outside waiting on me. I normally take care of her husband's Ferrari 348 Spider or the Rolls Royce Silver Spur he used to have. Don't think I've ever even washed the Accord more than once or twice. Anyway, the car looks like it hadn't been washed or vacuumed in a while plus it had numerous paint transfers from parking lot door dings on the passenger side.

I pulled the floor mats and vacuumed the interior. I then washed the car with Optimum No Rinse, claying as I washed with Opti-Clay. As I wiped down each door jamb, I also wiped down that section of the interior as well with a ONR dampened MF towel. Sprayed down the mats with BioKleen's Traffic Lane Cleaner and let dwell about 5 minutes while I got out my Meguiars G110 and D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream and a yellow polishing pad. I then scrubbed the mats and wiped them down with an MF towel.

I went over the paint transfers by hand with an MF towel and Meguiars #105. Did a really nice job removing them. I then got busy on the paint with the G110 and D151. The paint actually looked relatively swirl free the few times the sun popped out and D151 was adding a really nice gloss and clarity. I followed with a quick application of Opti-Seal. Windows were cleaned with Clearkote's Quikshine and I went over the interior with Meguiars Interior QD. Total time was about 2 hours, ten minutes. My customer was thrilled with how the car turned out for so little time.

2009 BMW Z5 35i. Brand new car, the owner wisely refused dealer prep. Nice to have a swirl free car for once! The wheels though...do they really NEED 20 spokes? The hood needed claying, so I took care of that with Opti-Clay as I washed the car with ONR. Since the paint didn't need any swirl removal, I decided to go for maximum wetness. I polished with Optimum Finish using my G110 and a black Meguiars finishing pad. I then sealed the paint with Opti-Seal.

This was about it for sun while I was there...

Looks great Scott. Awesome work for only 2 hours. I sometimes amaze myself with how fast I can wash/dress my car, but I don't think I could do that in 2 hours.

How long are you working in the PRC?

Worked it a couple minutes per section. Polishing was definitely the longest single step.

When you said you were aiming for maximum wetness with the Z4, you weren't kidding! The paint looks great!

Great work, as usual. I'm happy that you got to fill in a cancellation. To you, that's recovered money. To us at home detailing, it's "Well, I'll do it whenever the weather is good."

Are you still on the bike?
