1969 big block Chevy Truck

The truck was recently repainted, pretty decent job except of course, for the buffing. Not much sun today, so for most of the before and afters, I used my 180 lumen LED light that I use when I road bike at night. Good at picking up holograms and spider swirls.

Befores:

After Meguiars #105 using my Dewalt 849 rotary and a yellow Meguiars polishing pad at 1000-1400 rpms and #205 with a yellow Meguiars pad at 1000-1600 rpms, finishing with light pressure at 1000 rpms.

I then went over the whole truck with 3M Ultrafina using a blue Ultrafina pad at 1000-1800-1000 rpms and waxed with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose.

I didn't clean the interior (didn't even vacuum it, owner just wanted the paint worked) but thought I'd show what it looked like. The seats are out of an Alfa 164 and covered in leather with a Chevy logo.

The 454 in the truck is estimated to have about 600 hp (big cam, headers, head-work, 11:1 compression, etc) so it needs some Mickey Thompson drag radials.

The owner of the shop started the truck for a customer who wanted to hear how it sounded, got a quick video. First time the truck had been started this week, didn't want to idle.

Nice

Love the "0" treadwear indicator. When there's no tread to begin with, you can't expect it to last.

I couldn't get the hood open, found the latch but it wouldn't pop the hood up.

wagonproject-I guess if the owner can't hook the truck up, he'll tub it.

Looks great!

How in the world does a drag radial have a traction rating of C? That should be AAA+ lol. Unless they measure only in wet weather....

Yeah those traction ratings on the tire are either tested on wet asphalt or wet concrete... i cant remember.
