Surfside Detailing: My New 2009 G8 GXP paint correction

After swearing I would never purchase a black car due to all of the black vehicles I work on, I have my new black GXP. Unfortunately the paint was swirled up and scratched from the dealership washes etc. I picked up the car on Thursday afternoon in Louisiana and all I could think of during the drive back to California was the swirls!! I spent all of today (Saturday) polishing and sealing the paint.

Products Used
Meguiars Mild Claybar
Meguiars #105
Meguiars #21
Meguiars Foam Tire Dressing

**Disclaimer** Any pictures where the paint looks hazy or looks like holograms it is just the polish streaking as the humidity was not in my favor.

Clearcoat damage from sap

Wetsanded

Finished product

Beautiful!!

Love them G8's, especially the GXP variants.

Did you hassle any M3's, M5's or AMG's on the drive back to Cali?

What would have been funny is if you brought all your polishing materials with you and corrected right in front of the dealership after you bought it. And you could have a nice shiny car for the ride home. Also is it auto or manual?

I want one sooooo bad. Something about a 415hp family sedan that can keep up with BMW's and others is something I would want badly. Get the New Era Performance cam, some Kooks Headers, Cold Air intake and a nice catback you got yourself somewheres around 475hp.

Beautiful car! I'm with you on the whole black vehicle, my GTP is black and it's killing me with everything it shows.

However, great taste not only in color but trim! I must say I am quite jealous of not only a GXP, but the fact it's manual :P
