I have not used a rotary since Dec of '08 except to spin pads dry.

Everytime I think I am going to have use a rotary for a major correction, the surbuf pad/PC come thru.

Thank you Vtech! I use the Surbuf R series pad in a 7". The part # is S7P. You can get them right from surbuf.

What type of surbuf pad did you use? and how would it differ from say an orange LC pad?

Thank you cheapshot! See above for the pad info. Using the KBM the surbuf pad has more cut then the LC orange. The orange will finish better, but can still usually follow the surbuf with black LC/M205. On some paints a middle step with orange
M105 may be necessary.

From the atrocious amount of pigtails, I would say that he never stopped to clean the sandpaper from the DA sander. If any small amount of dirt or bonded contaminant is picked up, you will have this result.

I wish we would of had time to test some other combo's. I did try orange LC/M105 via the KBM 1x, it removed approx 75% of the defects.
