Thats Fresh Detailed: 97 Jet Black 328i ZKW

This 328i came in with medium to heavy swirling with a ton of RIDs. Owner (Robb1887 member on here) agreed for paint correction to remove most of the swirls. I tried my best to get as close to the RIDs as possible with just spot compounding and polishing. After doing test sections, i showed the owner that most of the swirls were gone and just the super deep RIDs remained and the wetsanding was the only way to remove them. He shook his head okay and i proceeded to tackle the rest of the car. Car is garage kept and regularly washed so there weren't any surprises during the wash/prep. Most of the discrepancies were from the previous owner

ENGINE
P21s TAW
303 Protectant

WHEELS/WELLS
P21s Gel
Megs GC

EXTERIOR
APC Spray down
CWC/Foam Gun, Rinse
Megs GC 2BM, Rinse

CLAY
Megs White, Clay Magic Medium Clay
ONR Lube
Rinse, Dry-WW MF Towel

CORRECTION with PC 6" & 4" pads
PG/Orange (spot treatment)
IP/Orange (2 passes)
106FA/White
PO85rd/Blue

SEALANT
JetSeal109/Blue

LSP
Dodo Juice Purple Haze

FINALS
Stoners IG (sides and rear)
RainX (front windshield)
OPT Wheel Gel

Owner, Robb removing trim as i was washing the wheels and prepping to clean the engine

spraying some APC where the trim clips to

Robb decided to debadge at this point which was great since i was going to work on his paint. since we were on a SUPER time constraint, i made him do all the dirty work. check out more action shots of Robb working my hairdryer/floss dedicated to detailing.

The wheels cleaned up pretty easy. no pics. Now onto the engine
Before

TAW working

Rinsing off the TAW

After. So rewarding.

After cleaning up the engine, i proceeded like normal and started to presoak the car and prep for correction

this happened to be the least worst section (passenger door) bad but not bad

after compounding test section

finished up with PO85rd

Trunk lid
Before. yes those are RIDs that easily catch my fingernails.

After the first pass of PG/orange

Some spots were treated with a few dots of PG and a few dots of IP. after hitting those sections, it seemed to pretty clean up real well and was ready for the finishing polish. After spot compounding, polishing with IP and following up with 106FA and PO85rd, sealing with JetSeal, the gloss came out! it looked so wet. BUT i wasnt done yet. With the car being black, i had to see if even more wetness could be achieved and let me tell you, it blew me and Robb away after i buffed the Purple Haze off.

now onto the long awaited afters

Roof

Hood

going around with LED trying to find those damnn RIDs i wasnt able to get with PG

i need to get my nails did.

Robb decided to send his GF some pics of his new paint job...sorry robb, i had too, haha

Brought the car in for final touches to the windows, trim and interior

debadged and clean...removed any ghosting the 12yr old car may have had from the badge. POOF

reflection of the rear drivers panel just above the rear bumper.

same area. rear bumper behind rear wheel...*i love Purple Haze

lower bumper passenger side...GLOSS

By the time we were done, the rain came and poured. it hurt me so bad that his car had to see rain just minutes after i buffed the wax off. i had to risk my camera and get some actual beading shots from the rain.

Notice how the rain just doesnt stick to the vertical panel of the drivers side door. This was after it was sitting in the rain for several minutes... yummy!

thank you Dodo Juice Purple Haze

as always, C&C welcome. thanks for looking!

Beautiful! That's how JB is supposed to look.

Purple Haze works awesome with JB. It's my go-to wax currently, haven't used anything better on JB paint.
