Envious Detailing: Brillo pad Audi

Well, after all the hard work and LOTS of product use, I finally finished this car to a suitable 90%. there were lots of DEEP scratches, some down through the paint and into the primer. Some of the scratches I was able to blend and make MUCH less noticeable, while others needed to have paint touch up to remove (rather a repaint). I did what I could on the car and the owner was more than pleased based on his comments while picking it up, as well as the next day!

products used:
CG wash and gloss
CG barebones
CG xtreme wet tire shine
M105
SIP
FPII
megs glass cleaner
megs last touch
claymagic red clay
megs APC
megs safe D-greaser
collinite 845
P21s wheel gel

tools used:
hitachi rotary
PC 7424
flexible backing plates
uber pads - green and orange
megs yellow pads
megs foam applicator
various brushes
exceldetail titan towels
exceldetail WW monteray towels
megs yellow supreme MF

Here are the horrible before pics...

just a touch of fallout and contaminants...LOL

Re: Envious Detailing: Brillo pad Audi

Here are a couple of 50/50 shots after just the compounding, not the polishing.

here are some middle of the road shots of the hood, no polishing, just after compounding/heavy polishing:

here are the afters that I took.. excuse the smearing of the 845, I had just laid it on and wiped it off about 10 minutes prior so its still setting up and "curing" as I had to re-wipe some panels down!

\And this is a shot of all the towels/pads that I used on this 27 hour detail!

yes I was extremely exhausted, and results were about 90%, some areas cleaned up near perfect, some only 80% (the deep scratch areas) i think that its a suitable amount considering the damage that was done to the car! In the end, I think the car needed a whole sanding to come out better...that requires a shop space IMO (maybe soon to come)

This is such a JAW-DROPPING TRANSFORMATION!!! I bet the owner couldn't even believe this was his car when he picked it up. And now, he is probably enjoying the "envious" faces from other audi owners, thanks to Eric from Envious Detailing!

Re: Envious Detailing: Brillo pad Audi

Eric that is a great detail there. Whats nice about this one is it tested you to truely see what your capable off. I seen in the other thread you wrote you did this by package and not hourly. Sometimes its not always about the money. I think there comes a point in any career when one gets tested. whether its detailing, or whatever. From talking with you and bustin your balls a little in the other thread. <~~all in good fun. Something that severe is some real damage. For what you did to this car is a job well earned. Swirls and holograms are the easy things, but this here wasn't just a polish job. This was a true paint correction. Yes there is a differnce where I come from. I want you to know, I think you did one outstanding job on this. I know you said it wasn't perfect. This business is always about a transformation. Detailing is about adding value to a car, while maintaining its origanial surfaces. In the end I think this is a lease car. I'm certain what you did saved this guy a ton of money on the return, And made him feel better on the inside. Thats whats its about. Once again great job!

Re: Envious Detailing: Brillo pad Audi

Obviously excellent work and I know it was WORK... But the bigger question is this: Why did this guy think he should wash a car with a brillo pad???
