Rasky's Auto Detailing: '07 GTI

'07 VW GTI, 1-step Exterior and interior cleaning. Car was in pretty good shape with some light cob webbing and some water spotting. Interior was average but had lots of dog hair and the GTI carpets suck.

I was in a hurry on this one so the pics are not the best....

Exterior:

Wash -Megs Gold Class
Wheels - P21S Gel
Tires - Amazing Roll Off, Hyper Dressing 3:1
Jambs and wheel wells - P21S TAW
Clay - Megs Mild Clay an Last Touch for lube
Paint correction - M205 via Flex 3401 and LC orange Classic
LSP - Blackfire Wet-Diamond x 2

Interior:

Carpets - Megs APC+ and LGM
Seats - Megs APC
Dash Vinyl - Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior Cleaner
Glass - Megs D120
Door seals - Megs M40

Before pics

Cob-webbing/water spots

There was grey over spray several areas on the car, most of it came off with claying.

Don't forget to roll the windows down a little and get the top edge.

After pics

10hrs invested

Thanks for looking,

Rasky :

I have the same car only an 08. All that was needed was 205 with an orange pad? Nothing else to finish it down? Looks great!!!

M205 and orange LC was all I used. There were a few water spots that didn't come out 100%, but the owner wasn't looking for perfection and I was very happy with the results.

I did a few test spots with different pads/polishes, and the orange LC just finished down very well with no marring, while at the same time offering a little more cut than a white pad. Normally I would have gone with the white but the harness of the CC allowed for the use with an orange pad.

Had this been my car I would have followed it up with a finishing pad, but the customer only wanted a 1-step, and while jeweling down with a finishing pad may have offered more gloss, the owner did not want to spend the money, nor do I think he would have noticed the difference.

Thanks Barry!

I've been working on the Healey on and off, but I talked the owner into doing a full repaint as I was not happy with some of the body work. The paint has lots of solvent pop, a few cracks, and chips, plus we had to paint the quater panel anyway. I will be starting on the body work in a couple of weeks with my old man. I need to get a few other cars done first.

Solvent pop, which did wet sand out...

Re: Rasky's Auto Detailing: '07 GTI

Thanks bro! I just picked up some 205 and was looking forward to trying it out. Will give it a go, my swirls are not as bad, jeweling will be with my favorite FF. BTW, how do you like the LGM? I was looking at the Little Green ProHeat?

Oh, Great job getting rid of the solvent pop. I had that happen on a rear bumper I did not to long ago. Got antsy and shot another coat too soon

Thanks! I was surprised I was able to sand it all out.

I do have the LGM with the heat option. It's no Mytee, but it still gets the job done. If you are like me and only do a couple cars a month, I think it's well worth the $90. I use a carpet brush and Shop-Vac with it too, as it definitely lack the lift needed to suck up all the water.

I do plan on getting a Mytee down the road, but the LGM has been working well for a few years now.

Thanks!

I have yet to hear of someone who was unhappy with the WD. It's just so easy to use, super slick feel, and it looks awesome!
