04 Porsche Boxster S, 01 BMW 540i, 07 BMW 335i

So the Boxster S came to me in pretty great shape already in that the wheels were clean (for the most part) and there wasnt much dirt on the car. However, there was some moderate swirling. The owner told me that the car had been repainted and that it had not gotten a coat of wax yet. As this was my first Porsche, I wanted to make it perfect, despite it being a silver car, I think it came out pretty nice. Time: 8hrs

Method:

Wash:
Cherry Power Car Wash

Wheels:
Dryer Brush
Purple Power degreaser diluted
Cherry Power as the wash
Meg's #26

Clay:
Meguiar's Smooth Clay kit and some mother's clay to test the differences
Meg's quick detailer as lube

Interior:
Blue Coral Carpet Cleaner
Lexol Leather Cleaner
Lexol Leather Conditioner
Meg's Natural Shine plastic and vinyl protectant

Trim:
Meg's Natural Shine plastic and vinyl protectant

Paint:
Meg's SwirlX (this really got good clarity after working the polish for a minute) on an orange pad on speed 6 on the PC
Ultrafina (to get a little more clarity and depth) on a white pad on speed 5 on the PC

LSP:
Meg's #7 Show Car Glaze
Meg's #26 Yellow Wax

I didnt get any befores unfortunately. I just wasnt thinking about it. Sorry about that.

Next up was an 01 BMW 540i. This car may have never had its wheels properly cleaned because there were a mess. The paint was obviously become more and more dull. It was really a swirl kingdom, so I knew it was going to be a very long day. It took a little while to find the right pad combination, but it finally came out to be 3m Rubbing Compound, then in areas of less clarity I followed with Ultrafina, but similar to the SwirlX, most of the car came out great with just the 3m Rubbing compound. Also, I found this paint to be extremely hard and thus I got the paint to about 90% corrected. Time: 11hrs

Method:

Wash:
Cherry Power Car Wash
Q-tips
Tar and bug cleaner (OTC) not sure what brand it is since I'm not looking at it right now

Wheels:
Degreaser
Eagle One Aluminum Wheel Cleaner (worked very well)
Dryer Brush for agitation
Wheel Wells received degreaser and were agitated with a stiff bristled brush

Clay:
Meguiar's Smooth Clay kit and some mother's clay to test the differences
Meg's quick detailer as lube

Interior:
Blue Coral Carpet Cleaner
Lexol Leather Cleaner
Lexol Leather Conditioner
Meg's Interior Detailer
Meg's Natural Shine plastic and vinyl protectant

Engine:
Just wiped down with some degreaser and a microfiber

Paint:
Meg's Ultimate Compound was tried, but didnt give a good of results as 3M rubbing compound, so I went with that instead on an orange pad speed 6 on a PC
Ultrafina to bring some more clarity and depth to the paint on a white pad on speed 5 on a PC

LSP:
Meg's #26 (I really love this wax as it give the paint the depth of a diving well)

^The Reflection Shot^

Last car of the week was an 07 335i, which was kept in great shape. Upon arrival, I inspected the car and saw one hologram and absolutely no swirling. After washing the car, I reinspected it and again saw little to no swirling. So I brought it into the garage, which was rather small and I couldnt pull the halogen away from the car to see any imperfections. I saw maybe a swirl here and there. Anyway, at about 5 pm the sum was shining into the garage and I looked at the rear quarter panel and saw more swirling that I had thought was on the car. I told the owner that I would go back and redo the polishing if he wanted or he wanted me to just let it go and continue with what I had planned. He said "just let it go and you can do it the next time". Time: 9.5hrs

Method:

Wash:
Cherry Power with some degreaser diluted to remove any previous coats of wax
Q-tips to clean the small areas that I could not reach

Wheels:
Eagle one Aluminum wheel cleaner worked really really well
Some simple green diluted also worked pretty well
Cherry Power wash was used on the face of the rims
Meg's #26

Clay:
Meguiar's Smooth Clay kit and some mother's clay to test the differences
Meg's quick detailer as lube

Interior:
Tuff Stuf to clean the carpets and vinyl
Lexol Leather Cleaner
Lexol Leather Condition
Meg's Interior Detailer
Meg's Natural Shine Protectant

Paint:
Ultrafina was used all around considering I thought that there was no swirling and that it would just bring some more clarity to the paint. This was used on an orange pad on speed 6 on the PC

LSP:
Meg's #26

Before:

During:

Left side unwashed, right side washed (wax removal)

After:

WOW!... the job you did for the bmw is truly great. That is sweet!.. the exterior bmw parts look shiny and dashing. And the interior is so clean.
