Anbuzero Detailed: 01 Ford Explorer Sport

This truck belongs to my coworkers sister. I keep telling people that this truck had enough bird crap and mud to fertilize my back yard with. it was in every crack and crevice you could imagine. Speaking of which why did Ford make this truck have so many hidden spots and hard to clean areas.

Well as the title says its a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport with only 42,000 miles and it was bought new. I have no clue how some parts of the truck got how they are but when it was dropped off i was told to do what i could with it. I would have liked some parts like the hood and the plastic trim on the bottom of the truck to have been in better condition but what can you do. The hood has some pretty deep RIDS and on those the clearcoat is starting to peel back. They weird thing about this truck is that theres a minimum amount of swirls from what i could see while outside. I would have liked to get the paint looking better that I did, but like i was told i did the best i could. so here it is enjoy.

Re: Anbuzero Detailed: 01 Ford Explorer Sport

Filthy stubborn wheels that would never get clean

During the cleaning of the engine. as you can see in the before and after above some parts were so heavily covered in dirt and grime that they appeared to be naturally brown. when hit with some Grime Reaper and a brush all that changed...

Heres wut washed off the brush after the above part

After the wash and clay:

I dont even recall where i found this but if i took a picture of it, that probably mean it was somewhere it normally shouldn't be.

When claying I found this. Apparently sometime in this trucks life it had be waxed. poorly yes but at least they tried.

My little brother helping me wax while i applied sealant to the hood to protect it more as it needed it very badly.

after buffing off the CG's M-seal

I was so tempted to polish out these swirls, but i couldnt

The rest of the afters:

I think thats all the pics for now all comments are welcome

nothing you can do with a hood like that. it's almost as though someone poured acid on it :| still a good job overall

Heck of a turn-around!

That crud you removed shouldn't be anywhere on a car in my opinion

Some areas could use improvement but that was a decent turnaround.

Thanks. For the engine bay if you mean the intake pipe, that brown you see is the rubber being discolored, similar to brown on discolored tires . The part I did miss is on top of the battery. My bad. And for the interior, if you mean the stains in the carpet, then those required extracting to remove which I unfortunately could not do at the time. If what you meant wasnt these things could you please let me know as I'm always looking to improve my work.

Also if you dont consider this professional, i understand, and I'll be glad to have a mod move it, seeing as how when i posted my work the other day I didnt realize there was another section on the forum for amateur work.

Not at all. All pictures are of the same car. The pictures where taken at different times of the day so the lighting affected the way the color of the pictures look.

Re: Anbuzero Detailed: 01 Ford Explorer Sport

For the engine bay the shots are sort of limited, but the alternator and wires could use better cleaning and dressing. That is what I was referring to.
