BMW M3 585rwhp

Got a call from a close friend that had his 500HP M3 for sale, he wanted to send it in top shape to the new owner. Paint was in poor condition especially the left front fender faded away pretty bad.

Anyone has any idea why only one panel had so much oxidation but the rest of the vehicle was even ?

Thanks for the help

Left front fender as found

That fender was resprayed at some point. Wasn't cleared. Single stage paint fades like that. You did an excellent job btw.

Re: BMW M3 585rwhp

Thank you Guys, I did the following

Wash and at the same time use the Oxidation Block( the one that does the same job as the clay bars)
Medium compound
Swirl Remover
Wax

Porter Cable with orange pad and finished with a white pad.

Scottwax, I send you an email the other day, maybe it when to your spam box ?

Re: BMW M3 585rwhp

Nice save! I would have to agree, either re-sprayed or they used something strange to clean it.. oh well.

BTW, 500whp in an E36!!!??? Damn that thing has to be crazy fast. What turbo set-up? I have about 350whp on my supercharged E36 M3 and it is scary. I wish your friend gets a good price for his, it looks in great shape! BMWs are selling for very cheap these days

We did a lot of R&D ourselves to get her to that level, it had a Precision 67mm turbo, DTA ECU and tons of more goodies those BBS alone cost a fortune, the SAD part the car was sold for 14k

Damn, that is a steal! I feel your pain I've dumped more than that into mine already and have a few more mods to go Oh well, I hope never to have to sell it.
