Sorry not going to be to pic heavy on this one. I just didn't have time to snap up a bunch.
I've done this Ram before. Awhile ago. And I guess my customer lost my number and when I closed up my shop he couldn't find me right away (until he looked online again LOL) long story short he wanted a spring clean up and decided to take it to another "Volume shop" to get it back in shape after a hard winter. Now I know it's his work truck and hunting truck and there were obvioulsy going to be flaws.... But holy crap! Apparently the hack shop ruined my previous detail by a nice heavy cut wool pad and some heavy compound covered up by the latest fillers... (He mentioned how he really liked it when he picked it up... But in a couple of weeks it turned a different shade of ugly)Then of course a couple of swirl-o-matics since then... and oiy vie!
So After wash and Decam I did snap up just a couple of before pics... Rest assured the entire painted surface was like this.
So of course I told him it was going to be the "Fix another hacks mistakes discount" LOL and he said make it right..
So I decided to tackle this with Some Danase Products and Ultrafina SE. Topped it off with 2 coats of Classic Wax again by Danase. and this is where I got it back to.. Ahhh... Much better.
And of course a little shower came through so I figured what the heck I'll get a little beading action going on LOL..
I really need to go have a talk with this shop and see if I can talk any sense into them and see if they can start doing things the right way or at the very least a lot less distructive.....
Oh and I Have another fun project coming up next LOL... Cool car but man the oxidation level is just insane.. Not sure just how far I'll be able to take this one.
Yea it wouldn't even fit in my garage which sucked when the little rain came. And I think it is. I still need to have a talk with the owner again (Just talked with his wife about it) It has some missing chips up around the front flares. It really looks OEM. Most of the Hudsons I've seen are this color. I've only ever seen 1 other color which was a mint greenish color.
Yea still trying to find a time that works for both of us on the hornet... Everytime I have an available slot he's been busy... Hopefully I can get to it before the big move south. I would love to have that in my detailing resume`
jakerooni- Heavens, that Ram really *was* trashed Nice recovery!
What's the plan on the Hudson? You gonna try something with a lot of chemical action to it? I was thinking how the old verson of Meg's #2 had such a potent mix of chemical cleaners and abrasives and how well it used to work on really oxidized ss....
