AutObsessions Detailed: BMW M5 (E60) 100+ Pics

This is a regular customer of mine that takes great care of his car... Unfortunately upon having the vehicle serviced, they dealer thought it'd be a great idea to wash the car for him (against his instructions to the dealer not to touch the paint).

The result was wash induced swirling and quite a bit of hazing. My client did get the dealer to cover most of the cost of the detail some time ago. So we scheduled the car just before my 'Grand Opening Exotic Show' (my other thread) and I worked on the car from around 2pm till about 10pm that night (Applied a second and third coat of Opti-Seal the next morning/afternoon).

Process Used:
Foam
Wash
Rinse
Foam
Clay
Rinse
Tape off emblems etc..
Megs M105 via White via Flex
Menz 106fa via Black via Flex
3x Opti-Seal

On to some before pictures:

Water still beading pretty well...

Foamy Foam...

Claying

After Hood/Fender:

Paint Condition; Swirls and Hazing Present:

Sorry for a few of the blurry pics; I desperately need a tripod!

Wish the sun was out too; as anyone in the NorthEast knows, the sun has been hard to find lately!

Thanks for looking!!

Your not kidding about the sun lately -- it sucks!

I have the same problem with my BMW dealership...we put notes in the car, they have our chart marked not to wash it...yet they still do.

Otherwise, great job!

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Barry,

I never used to use their chemicals until I got a fixed location and their truck started coming by. I use their basic stuff like Tire Shines, All Purpose Cleaners, Degreasers, Window Cleaners etc.. They work just fine compared to the boutique brands and are crazy cheap when bought in bulk.

I'm going to PM you so we can discuss some of their products and your experiences with them...don't want to hijack my own thread
