Cool Make It Shine: 2001 Civic Interior and Exterior

A good client of mine calls me up and says he's got lots of dog hair in his interior and wants it cleaned up. So I said no problem! Previously we had a scheduling problem that was my fault, so I detailed his exterior for half price to compensate him for the trouble.

On to the detail...

This car had a lot of everything. Dog hair, papers, crumbs, coffee stains, salt stains, weird odours, lotsss of dust, etc..

When doing interiors, it's best to have a plan of attack. I like to clean up as big of an area as possible so that it's easier to spot dirty areas. It's weird I know, but it works for me. I figured the best way to get to everything would be to remove the seats. I started by unplugging the battery (to avoid tripping the SRS system), then unbolting and unplugging the seats. With the seats removed...

...I spent about 2 hours vacuuming, followed by 45 minutes of lint-rolling.

With the big job out of the way, the carpets and mats were shampooed with APC and extracted using a high-powered shop-vac. The seats required the same process but with a bit more work...

Tim Hortons French Vanilla Cappucino anyone???

Plastic trims, dash board and gauge cluster area were cleaned with Meg's Quik Interior Detailer (amazing stuff), and dressed with 303. Shifter console area, vents and headliner were steam cleaned. Windows cleaned with Stoners IG and a mini WW MF.

On to the exterior.....

Before:

After:
Wash - CWG
Clay - Riccardo Yellow & ONR CL (Very contaminated!!!)
AIO - Poli-Seal
Seal - Opti-Seal x2, Opti-Bond on tires, Armor All on wheel wells.

Andddddddd that's all folks! Thanks for looking!

Great work on the interior! What kind of APC if you don't mind me asking. Would Poorboys be ok in your opinion?

And only today I was thinking that I never see people taking the seats out any more!

Great work.

Thanks! I used eShine's APC called 'Kleenol.' Poorboys APC should be okay. Test in a small spot first to make sure. Dilute as necessary.

Great work.
Thanks! If I am able to remove the seats without getting into too much electronic stuff, I usually do it since it allows for a more thorough job.
