2001 APR Audi TT

Hey everyone, its been a while! I've been extremely busy at the hospital and the dealership, so I haven't had much of a chance to do much detailing other than dealer stuff. I fixed up this Audi that my customer brought up from the US last year. He said he's always wanted to bring a vehicle to me, just never had a vehicle worth while.

Onto the detail, exterior only:
-Decontamination wash with Knock Out
-Tar termoval
-Headlights were sanded with 320, 600, 1000, and finally 2000 grit
-Power cut plus on cutting pad
-Power cut plus on polishing pad
-Summit on 4 inch finishing pad
-Collonite by hand

-Xp Cool Blue (water based dressing) on all trim and tires

Befores:

Afters:

That was a nasty looking vehicle. Nice job bringing it back. Great gloss and looks like new.

I don't care for the bs1/2 line, too many fillers. Power cut plus is great because it has NO fillers to be seen, what you see is what you get, so you can definitely tell if you need to jewel the surface more before moving on to the next step. Quite the cut that stuff has, not as strong as XP compound, but still very heavy. I hear automagic has some new compound out that is actually diminishing and can finish out close to final polishing ready.

As for pads, I used the green automagic cutting pad in a 8 inch and white autovalet 4 inch pad for cutting in smaller areas. Finishing was done with a black 4 inch autovalet pad. I love the 4 inch pads because they're extremely thick, and you can control them right up to window trim without them catching on pesky things like mirrors and door handles.

Thanks for looking, and appreciate the kind words.

Steve
