Had this one come in. He saw my website and thought I was what he was looking for to handle his 545i. It had some issues that needed delt with. One decent gouge in the back and then the fact that someone took a scrubbie of some sort to his hood. Interior was in decent shape. The leather really needed some conditioner added. But for the most part just normal daily use stuff.
I polished it out with my Meg's 105/205 combo with the makita. Hyperdressing went on the tires. Normal APC to clean all the rubber and such. The leather got the "vodoo" treatment. HWE got the carpets and mats back in shape. And of course lots and lots of elbow grease.
Some of the process pics didn't turn out like I had wanted them to so bare with me on them I'll try to explain.
The befores.
SOS pads and paint really don't mesh well together.
The Gouge he wanted me to look at.
I didn't have BMW paint so it was going to be an interesting fix.
Dirty Rims
The engine bay. Huge V8 in the compact body makes this a very fast ride!
The interior pics.
Dirty Exhaust tips just won't do.
A good wash and clay to get a good inpection.. Seems this bad baby has seen it's share of friction washes' Convient but ohhhh so harsh on the paint
Something funky happening with the paint here as well. Looks like some sort of acidic fluid was left on the paint to long.
Pull it in and start taping up the gaps for polishing. There really aren't any sharp edges to get caught on. So no worries about burning an edge or anything but the panel gaps we're enough to warrent the tape I really didn't want to clean that mess up afterwards.
Wetsanding the back bumper... There was just to many RIDS to chase after. I figured I'd just knock them all out in one shot.
After it was all polished up I figured it was a good time to see how clear I got the paint and get some reflection shots.
Finished up the inside
Afters of the engine bay
And to end it...
Absoultly Loved it!!! Great detail. Thanks for reading. Comments always welcomed.
I really am. I've commited myself to the sampler package anyways. The 105 is really impressing me the 205 I'm not entirely sure if I see much if any difference from the Ultrafina SE polish I have. When it comes time to re-order it'll probably just come down to the price at the time. I also seem to be shying away from the G110 already and grabbing for the Makita more often than not. So I'm not sure what to think about that just yet.
On the rear bumper? Yea that took a bit of touch up and a little wetsanding to get out but it came out. definatly one of the nicer details I did this summer.
