Immaculate Refelctions - Range Rover Sport (full correction) 23hrs

This a 2006 Range Rover Sport with the supercharger. VERY nice SUV. This owner had bought it recently and wanted to get it looking better than new. I was happy to help. Upon inspection of the car, I noticed that the previous owner did not care for it at all. Extreme baked on brake dust, extreme contaminents on the surface of the paint, and severe swirls all over it. There was also some paintwork evident on the left passenger door, horrible holograms, sanding marks, and pigtails left in the clear. Thankfully this whole thing cleaned up very nicely. To finish this one off was some Swissvax Concorso, applied by bare hand. Ok enough jibber jabber, onto the pics!

Total time for completion: 23 hours

Process:
-Dawn wash
-Wheels/tires/wheel wells - Meg's APC 3:1
-Swissvax wheel brush
-door jambs - Meg's APC 4:1 w/Swissvax brush
-exhaust hand polished Megs 105 then 205.
-exhaust and wheels sealed with Zaino All In One
-Megs aggressive red clay with Megs Last Touch as lube
-Megs 105 on Lake Country 5.5 orange pad
-Megs 205 on Lake Country 5.5 white pad
-IPA wipedowns on each step
-Zaino Z16 on all plastic trim
-Megs Hot Shine on tires
-Stoners More Shine on wheel wells
-LSP: Swissvax Concorso by hand

When I arrived, here is what I started with

Swirls...

more swirls

yes, still more swirls.....

nasty exhaust tips

You can see how dry and dull the paint looks

The wheels.... this took a while...

After about 2 1/2 hours on the wheels and wheel wells, it was time to wash it. Onto the pre-washing soak...

Here is the Meguiar's mild claybar... This is how heavy the contamination was on this car. It started out pure white. Yet, this is NOT after doing the whole car! This pic was taken after only doing the top edge of the rear panel (about a 4"x20" section)!!! After this I knew I needed heavy artillery. So out came the Meguiar's aggressive red clay.

After claying, it was time for the next wash. Now you can see the true condition of the paint and swirls without dirt and contaminents interfering.

Pictures of the buffing process

The repainted door. You can see the holograms from someone who didn't know how to buff properly.

More problems on the same door

50/50 shot

Another

Fully corrected!

A few more 50/50 shots of various spots

After 16 hours of compounding and polishing, it was brought back outside for another bath to remove the polishing dust and any polishing oils remaining. You can see the clarity restored to the paint and ZERO swirls and just a couple RIDS left.

After drying, it was time for the Swissvax Concorso. Always fun applying a luxury wax bare handed. And here are the results.

Fantastic job.

ps: for the wheels, you should try P21S wheel gel and P21S autowash citrus degreaser, amazing resuts. works for you instead of you working.

I just got some P21S wheel gel. I'll be using it on his DB9 this weekend. Eager to give it a try.

Thanks! Yes, interior was done as well, but it was pretty clean with the exception of some heavy vacuuming. Forgot to take pics of it. Next time I will though.
