Tailored Detail: 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi

Got this one in last night. I have to say I am a bit nostalgic for the early to mid-90 GM cars. I really like the styling of this model year the best of the Bonnevilles, and while the SC'd engine is no beast, it's no slouch either.

Mileage: 210,000

Detail Information: I originally was going to hit the paint with D151 but I knew the owner was going to be around to pickup the car around 1pm and I started the detail at 8am. Once I reconciled the fact that polishing of any kind was out of the question, I went ahead and applied our GSP process to just getting this sucker clean.

Exterior Process: Surf City RT Grime Remover and Pinnacle Scrub Sponge around all lowers (the black that can be seen is actually spray paint), wash (TOL Bubble Bath, FoamGum, SheepSkin Mitt), OPT Clay w/Sonus Glyde, OPT Spray Wax

Interior Process: Vaccum, vaccum, vaccum, vaccum....Cleanse Vinyl with TOL APC (10:1) agitating crevices with Swissvax Brush, Condition Vinyl with WG Interior Protectant, Pinnacle Leather Cleaner, WG Leather Nourish

Engine: Engine Brite, Surfcity Grime Remover, Many Brushes and MF's, CD2

Glass: IG

Sadly, owner showed up an hour early and liked to talk. SO I didn't get a chance to finish the pedals and probably some other things, but oh well. I knew it would be a rush job.

Enjoy the Show:

I did a white one with the tan interior about three weeks ago, its amazing how well the paint on these cars cleans up with just cleaner wax from Megs..it was sooo bright, customer was super happy.

that car was hit, good recovery!

Really outstanding results in 5 hours on a pretty dirty car. Engine looks amazing!

One look at that interior styling and you can see why GM has the problems it does. Pontiac really designed some hideous interiors in the 90s through early 2000s. That supercharged 3.8 V6 was a great engine though.

WOW! for a 14 year old "salt state" car with 200,000 + miles that was in REALLY good condition ...even before the detail (minus the engine area)! I can't see any signs of rust or oxidation for that matter....amazing.

Nice work. Hope you don't mind me adding a little constructive critisism, but if you didn't use wheel acid on those wheels, you might want to consider it on the next one as it does a great job on hardened brake dust.. Also, the pedals could've used a good scrub and a dress up.. Again, not meant to belittle.. Just a suggestion.

Great job!

Yeah, I know, I ran out of time. The owner came a half hour early and I was still conditioning the leather when he showed. I mentioned the pedals to him but he said it was fine...he's a concrete guy and his shoes were pretty dusty.

For the wheels, they came out well without acid. They had some staining that didn't come off, but other than that I was very pleased with how they finished out for the amount of time I had to work with the car.

Not to mention, this was a free detail. It was for a person that truly deserved the works and more but could only lend the car out for a short time.
