M320 Nightmare

Ok so after reading some other recent post it seems like it's Nasty interior week or something. Now I've cleaned this Benz up before but it came in looking like it's never been cleaned. We're talking a foul smell that would turn a strong stomach. Leather so dirty I was really unsure the true color (you'll see) I mean it's a benz afterall LOL. So the owners brother drops it off and he immediatly apologizes to me for it's condition.. I'm like ... ahh crap. So i go to inspect... The outside is a bit hit. But most of it is damage beyond anything I can help. So I'm not to worried about that. I start looking for what I can help with..

Some road tar and other contaminants.. Looks like it's going to take a long time to clay this beast.

Wheels a little hit

I feel the paint and notice the immediate presence of overspray... Recent body work... Lovely.. What else haven't I been informed of LOL..

So onto the interior...This takes the friggin cake let me tell ya..

My god the leather... The poor poor leather LOL

Some goodies between the seats for me to flush out... mmm mmm wholesome goodness.

I think someone tossed chunks into the cupholders... Good god people!!!!!

Every door pocket was hit... Melted candies, papers and mystery suprises around every corner.

Look Mommy I put pretty stickers everywhere!!!

The drivers cockpit... Wow... umm???

More vomit maybe??? Not sure... There's a funky odor that's for sure..

Re: M320 Nightmare

The engine bay was in need of a good cleaning as well...

Wow.... ok I'm in for a long haul on this one I can already tell.. remove the floor matts to get another story... Well at least now I know what color the carpet is supposed to be LOL..

Well time for a bath and a good clay job.

After that I get back to the inside... Move the seat forwards and find this....

Seriously... How does all this crap even fit under here... It was similar under every seat!!!!!.

Get to scrubbing the leather and getting that back in shape... Here's a good process pic of that

Getting rid off all that grime took hours with the steamer. After that I conditioned it with some vodoo.Scrubbed the dickens out of the carpeting.. Not everything came out. I knew it just wasn't going to. Polished the outside with some 105/205 and gave it a coat of MaxWax. Dressed the engine bay and outside rubber with Meg's HD. Not a perfect detail by any means but I'll give it a vote of "Most improved" in my recent portfolio... LOL..

Some afters.

No more pukie pukie... (or whatever it was..)

Engine

I don't know if it'll stay this way for any length of time. I really hope so. I don't remember it being this bad last time I detailed it. But it has been about a year or so.... Who knows... The guy is really cool. But I think the kids run the house LOL... Anyways. Thanks for looking... Comments always appreciated.

If you think that is bad, you shoould have seen this Chevy Venture van that came to my buddy's body shop for work.. It was 100X worse than that. It was so bad that the sliding doors would not shut all the way because there was so much crap in the bottom tracks.

Re: M320 Nightmare

I just wonder how the slobs that own this vehicle get anywhere without being gross when they arrive. I mean, the seats were nasty, every touchable surface (shifter, steering wheel, turn signal stalk, etc.) was covered with crap, and the car obviously smelled.

I cannot imagine what their house must look like. It's ok for a vehicle to arrive dirty, but for that condition they should have really been ashamed of themselves.

The worst part is when people blame being total slobs on having children. I have a 4 year old son, and my vehicle is spotless. I teach him to respect (but not worship) people's property, and it will pay off the rest of his life. Letting kids trash vehicles like this really sets a pattern for how they live their lives.

Re: M320 Nightmare

How was the clear on it? Did the m105 work well? My mom has a 00 ML500 and I'm going to be doing it in a couple of weeks.

Thanks

Re: M320 Nightmare

Looks like the engine bay was cleaner than the inside of the vehicle.

Re: M320 Nightmare

Good Lord man! That was way worse than my Odyssey adventure. Nice job but I would have waited till the owner left and then poured some gas on it and lit a match. LOL that thing was a wreck. Once again, nice work.

I like how autopia completed the link with "mystery" taking you to Swissvax Mystery. I bet it woulda been a much more enjoyable detail if there was a pot of Mystery at each of those corners lol.

Great job and turnaround. that leather was hammered!

Re: M320 Nightmare

Man, I did an EXACT duplicate of this vehicle last year. Except the one I did must have been side swiped/t-boned. The complete pass side was resprayed, very good job though. instead of papers under the pass seat, mine was coated in airbag dust.

Good job.
