Immaculate Reflections - Ducati Monster and R1 corrections
Here is a pair of sportbike corrections I did recently. Both were a lot of fun! Each bike had its challenges but both came out great.
First off is a 07 Ducati Monster S2R1000. With 11k miles, it had never been detailed. It was in pretty rough shape. The wheels were bad and the sides of the tank were rubbed raw, just foggy looking.
Process:
-Dawn wash
-APC and tarminator on wheels and tires
-Swissvax Wheel brush
-Zaino Claybar with Meg'sLast Touch as lube
-Megs 105 on LC orange 4"
-Megs 205 on LC white 4"
-Menzerna 106FA on LC black 4"
-IPA wipedowns
-Zaino All in One
-Zaino Z5pro
-Zaino Z2pro
-Z8 Grand Finale

Here are a few up close before/afters from just the buffing....
Re: Immaculate Reflections - Ducati Monster and R1 corrections
Next up is a stunning R1. 08 I think. Had 22,000 miles on it and looked almost showroom new! Not even any rock chips! You don't see that on bikes with miles like that. This owner REALLY cares about his R1. Marchesini Wheel and Ohlins front and rear suspension ($bank$), the bike is really stunning and sounds amazing too.
It had only minor swirls, but this clear was as hard or harder than C5 vette clear! Using the KBM method (what I understand of it), really helped a lot on this hard clear. Got about 90-95% correction on it and the owner was more than happy. Finished it up with some Swissvax Concorso which really made the black incredibly deep and rich. It was also pretty cool applying it by bare hand too . Also made the metal flake really pop! The after pics look a little dusty, but trust me, its only flake, no dust; it plays tricks on your eyes lol.
Process
-already washed and waiting for me
-Zaino Claybar with Megs Last Touch as lube
-Megs 105 on LC orange x2
-Megs 205 on LC white
-IPA wipedowns
-Swissvax Cleaner Fluid
-Swissvax Concorso

Only problem with that is they no longer have any support and are very flexible/breakable. So on the bike is actually easier. Taping took like 15 maybe 20 min. Less time than removing all the fairings.

Great work!
Thanks! The Duc was moderately hard, so not too difficult to work with. The R1 on the other hand was extremely hard clear.
