My $30.00 Dollar Detail Job

Actually NOT mine, But Mine to fix. I got the call from one of my closest friends, the phone call started with a "Boy are you going to be Mad" that alone was enough for me to get all worried, I went and picked the car up, It's a Jaguar, Black, one of the special edition 400hp bla bla bla, My good friend decided to have the car detailed by a so called "Pro Detailer" TOTAL COST $30.00, This is exactly what happens when someone without a clue uses a high speed buffing machine, and the guy is a "Pro Detailer"

The steps that I used were

Pre Wash
Car Shampoo/ Oxidation Block
I tried many combination of pads but settled for Orange Pad and Black Pad, at times a yellow pad using swirl remover
Pre Wax
Wax with Polycharger
Wash
One more coat of wax with Polycharger
Tire Gel

You can click on the photos for larger view so you can really appreciate this art work.

One of the worst cases I have ever dealt with, doors

That hurt my eyes!
Last week I saw the same model but a Green one. This car was hologramed all over the car. There were still swirlmarks on the car. Felt sorry for the car.

Why would someone that has the obvious means to afford a nicer car cheap out so bad on maintaining it??? Talk about a bad case of "you really should've known better!!!!"

Good save. no go thump that so called "Pro" in the head with a buffing pad from all of us LOL

Take a look at any random $70-100k luxury car on the streets and I bet the paint is in similar condition.

i would have to agree on this one. those defently didn't look like wool pads marks looked more like improper wash technigues or maybe someone compounded by hand? nice turn around. lol i also think jakerooni hit this one on the head. why would anyone with a jag spend thirty dollars on a detail lol!

...because outside of autopia, the general public just doesn't care. They don't even know what swirls are.

They think that an $8/hr rube with a rotary is going to do a great job on their car because he works in a "pro" detail shop and they're simply getting the "best deal".

Yes, Virginia--the general public is this ignorant--regardless of whether they drive a $20k car or an $80k car.

Re: My $30.00 Dollar Detail Job

Sad thing is that's what most of the "Pros" down here in Florida are charging and doing the same level of quality. Lots of people with more money than brains would rather have Joe Schmoe hack wash N waxer inflict mayhem with their weekly detail special than have it done right every few months.

Great save Tito TW!! It looks like a totally different car. You did a great job.

Agreed, nobody polished that car with a rotary. Those are not rotary holograms, that is severe wash swirling. Not the worst I have seen at all, but pretty bad.

Example of a similar situation..

Ouch - I thought it was a Click N Brag for Tito TW? I don't see where the last 3 pictures have anything to do with this thread?
