Premium Detailed 2007 Magnetic Black Nissan 350Z

306 HP 2007 Magnetic Black Nissan 350Z. Sounds fun doesn’t it?

After about 13 emails and hundreds of questions I finally put this detail in my book. I could immediately tell that the owner of this Z really cares about her car. I was instructed that she didn’t even want swirls in her door jambs. The owner of this car is very busy and told me that she hadn’t washed it in 6 months (It is garaged when its not being driven). Her main concern was some water spotting throughout the entire car. She had been dealing with a local Nissan dealership that had chipped up her very expensive Volk aftermarket rims while the car was in for its 15k service. So she put the stock wheels back on while they were being repaired. As we talked more about the car she referred to it as “dated” as the new 370Z was new for 2009. I would hardly use the word “dated” to describe this car.

When I arrived for this detail, I was pleasantly surprised at how well she had cared for the car. There were absolutely no swirls! The only real issues were some light to medium RIDS (random isolated deep scratches) and shallow water spotting. I was hired to do an exterior detail only as she had already done a wonderful job detailing the interior herself.

The process

Exterior paint and glass:
* Dawn presoak and wash with two bucket method
* Clay bar paint and glass with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay
* ONR diluted as clay lube
* Taped with 3M blue clean release masking tape
* Polished paint with 6.5” and 4” Green LC pads, Menzerna Power Finish PO203, and G110
* Cleaned glass with Stoner Invisible Glass
* Polished glass with Meguiars D151 (Paint reconditioning cream)
* Sealed with Optimum Opti-seal
* Waxed with Pinnacle Souveran
* Finished with Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detail Spray

Wheels, tires, and wheel wells:
* Sprayed with Eagle One All Wheel and Tire Cleaner
* Wheels, tires, and wheel wells cleaned with EZ detail brush and other various brushes
* Wheels clayed with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay
* Wheels waxed with Wheel Wax brand Wheel Wax
* Tires dressed with Optimum Opti-bond Tire Gel
* Wheel wells dressed with Meguiars Hyper Dressing diluted 4:1

Now without further ado, on with the detail.

Some before shots. (We all know what a dirty car looks like so I will keep this part short)

Dawn presoak and Dawn wash with two bucket method

Claying the roof (Notice that there is very little if anything on the bar)

After wash and clay

Looks good huh? Well, take a look at what the halogen reveals.

Pulled back into the garage and taped up for polishing

The only 50/50 shot I could get as the sun was hidden behind clouds on and off all day

During polishing

After polishing shots (You can really see those flakes pop!)

Pulled outside for a spray off to remove some polishing dust

Pulled the car back in the garage and dried it off, applied sealant and wax

Afters, enjoy!

Thank you Premium for the amazing job you did on my Z! I was really afraid to let anyone touch my car, but you took the time to answer all of my questions and put my mind at ease, and your attention to detail really shows! Now I'm going to be afraid to drive it and get it dirty again!

Can I ask what processes you used with the clear bra sections?
