Jeep Liberty, Pontiac Solstice

Nothing major, just basic details.

2005 Jeep Liberty. Yes, I agree, the wheels are hideous. So is the 20" emblems on the side. Not my vehicle.

Really wasn't in bad shape on the outside, the interior needed work though. The cloth seats are garbage. Very thin, easy to stain material. The mother of the owner said her daughter has complained about the staining since they bought her the Liberty. I had to clean the seats (using BioKleen Traffic Lane Cleaner), let them dry to see if any stains popped back up-which a few did, then go over them again. Sorry, no interior shots, sunny day and it was impossible to get good pictures due to the combination of sun and shade inside the vehicle.

Outside was polished with Optimum Polish II via G110 and a yellow Meguiars polishing pad. Waxed with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose. Tires and fenderwells dressed with Armor All, trim with Optimum Protectant Plus.

=============

2007 Pontiac Solstice SCCA SSB champion edition (turbo). Owner just wanted a basic exterior detail even though it did need deeper polishing than I could do with just one polishing step. Optimum Poli-Seal using my G110 and a white LC polishing pad knocked the spider swirls down quite a bit and noticably deepened the finish. I topped it off with Wofgang Fuzion.

The truck you see in the background-detailed it the week before. The owner took it to his ranch and actually uses it as a truck.

Re: Jeep Liberty, Pontiac Solstice

those look great scott

is there a big noticable difference between the G110 and PC in your opinion?

also, what applicator do you use to apply tire dressings?

Nice work Scott, as always ! That Solstice is a pretty nice-looking car... reminds me of my old Sunfire GT a bit. I'll get to the post one of these days soon and send your carpet cleaner, I promise !

Said "Liberty" on the tailgate.

BigAl3-the G110 definitely has more power, similar to the UDM. I'm on my 3rd one though. First one died halfway into the 2nd detail, the second one made it through a dozen or so. The one I have now is the latest build and supposed to be the most reliable. About a dozen cars on this one and it seems to be holding up well.

This is the tire dressing applicator I use: Dressing Applicator and 3 Pads - Cleaning Tools - Wheels & Tires - Car Care - Griot's Garage

The company one of my regulars worked for was making these for Griots (sold the rights to another company about 18 months ago) and gave me several holders and about 140 applicators. Considering the applicators last me 3-4 months each, I won't need to buy any more until I am around 80.

Excellent work! I have a small question to ask you, Do you tape all mirrors and seals with painters tape and How do you polish in all the smaller regions where your buffer cant get?

Still said "Liberty" on the tailgate. Go figure.

DetailnByDustn-I tape off if using a rotary, generally don't if I use a DA buffer. Really tight areas I use smaller pads or polish by hand.

ohiostate-got me, no idea why someone would brag about wheel size via emblems on the fender either.
