Black BMW X3 Shines again!

OK first off let me say this detail humbled me a bit. Certian things happened during it that really took me back and said "Holy... H*ll call me impressed!" And I will go more into detail about in another thread. That being said though I had this X3 show up in the morning desperatly begging to be shiney and glossy yet again. The poor little thing knew it had the potential but it's a daily driven machine that has seen entirely way to many swirl - o- matics.

Processes used were

Pre-rinse with the foam cannon
Wash with hawaiian shine Auto wash
Clay with Meguires white clay (I do beleive.. I have so many clays I never know anymore)
Lube was Meguires UQD
Wheels were a combo of Danase's wheel assasin, APD, Lots of elbow grease and brushing.

Polishing was a variety of things
Danase's Swirl Abolisher system
Pinnicle XMT line up

Then the UPS guy dropped off some goodies......

Topped off with Classic wax.

Onto the befores:

Wheels were covered:

The interior was well used as well. (Really odd color combination if you ask me though)

Gotta love the panoramic sunroofs

Next up the foam pre-soak to get all the stuff loosened up..

Re: Black BMW X3 Shines again!

After the wash and dry I started my inspections... Like I said.. Pleanty o swirly swirls and defects...

A couple of defects in there. Nothing I haven't seen before though..

So after the initial inspection to the severity of the defects it was time to start crack a lackin!!!.

First up so good ol claying

And then the wheels needed to stand up nice and bright again..

Actaully I'm pretty sure I did the wheels first and then clayed. But whatever LOL

Re: Black BMW X3 Shines again!

OK so after the claying and the wheels I tackled the engine bay... A lil dusty!

After the engine is all set Mr. UPS guy decided I needed a gift....

After all the hype I just had to break down and try this stuff out.... A very humbling experience to say the least......

Re: Black BMW X3 Shines again!

So after getting in the new shipment of supplies I decided to test out the KBM for myself and see if it held up to what I called "Detailing 101" First off let me just get this out of the way. The Meguires D/A blew me away. Now I have the Dewalt 4443 D/A and I thought that was decent. That thing dosen't hold a friggin candle to the Megs D/A I can actually see that replacing alot of rotaries out there. It's very powerful for what it is and very safe to use..... To say it exceeded my expectations is the understatment of the year. I've play with D/A's before this thing is a D/A on steroids.

So after compounding and polishing it out via the KBM (as I take it anyways) I pulled it out to see the results...

Not to dang shaby if you ask me.....

Pulled it back in and finished up the paint work then went on to the interior.... What's that.. Yet another new toy in the Bright Dynamics line up?? Yep the steamer came in and I put it to the test with the door jambs.

Wipe them down nice and good.

Roof reflections? I only see shots of your garage door

Great job, but turn that sprayer on the UQD back around the other way!

Looks really good, deep and rich.

I've done several 335s with that black/brown interior. It has really grown on me.

Re: Black BMW X3 Shines again!

I think it's the blonde wood inlays that throws it off for me... Just seems out of place to the rest of the dark color choices.

Just picked a wagoner steamer off of amzon.com. Might not be as heavy duty as some of the other ones on here but it was very affordable and goes constantly for up to 45 minutes. So far I'm happy with the purchase.
