Re: 20 screaming polishers, 50 pounds of polish, 600+ man hours......
My back is aching just looking at it. Un friggin real guys..
Question though. How do you manage the sheer power demand for 20 polishers at once?
And where does the plane go from here? Museum?

I had safety glasses, particle mask and hearing protection on site. Most chose not to use any.

We had 8 plugged into the hanger and two outside generators ran the others.
You can see one of the generators in this picture.

Yes we had a few of them, for under sides they do a great job, much lighter when your holding it over your head all day it makes a big difference. All but one lasted for the whole 40 hours of polishing.

If you buy them right, they can be had for $20 and maybe even less with some of the special offers or coupons. For this kind of work, that is dang near a disposable item! I bet they work good for this kind of dirty work.
I got one a long time ago for $19.99 and I think it even came with an extra set of brushes. (I hardly use it anymore except for pad washing and drying)
Awesome job, BTW.

I really like these plane details but I wish you would post a little more about the process and products used.
Great job!

Absolutely fantastic job guys!! I'm starting to get used to seeing these massive jobs done to perfection from you guys.
I bet it took a lot of logistics, planning and direction to bring together a group like that and accomplish a job that large. Great job!

Here are a few more pics for those who like to see Joe working, and even more exotic, me working.
