Deep Gloss Auto Salon: Black Focus vs M105 KBM

Deep Gloss Auto Salon
2001 Ford Focus

This vehicle belongs to a young lady that is in her 1st year of college. As you would expect, the paintwork on this vehicle was in horrid shape.

I decided to use M105/M205 and the Kevin Brown PC (Flex) method on one half of the car and my rotary on the other half using SIP/106ff.

Obviously this was not a detail in which perfection was on the docket but, I found it “post worthy” because it is a vehicle that the “Average Joe” can afford and it is also in pretty typical hammered shape, just like 90% of every vehicle I see on the road.

Apologies for the lack of sun shots but it was quite late when I finished.

Looks like a major transformation for sure. Good job.

So what conclusions could you draw when comparing the two sides of the car and the two different methods? How did they look, what was the time differential, etc, etc.

Thanks!

Thanks todd,

I am much more comfortable with my rotary than I am with my flex just because I have used it more in the past year. I think this had a huge impact on me being more proficient with the makita.

In order to give a true, apples to apples comparison I would have to spend many, many hours with the RO using 105/205 combo...

I will tell you this, M105 and a flex can remove some very substantial defects.

Re: Deep Gloss Auto Salon: Black Focus vs M105 KBM

The before and after deep scratches shot is impressive to begin with but when you look at the difference in clarity your really see the tremendous enhancement in the final finsh after correction. Truly excellent work!

Thanks - I used the same process on the seats as I did on the carpets except I used a different Chem. Instead of Traffic Lane Cleaner I used Zep Extractor Shampoo
