Hotwaxxx UK - BMW 330ci (x57)

I'd had this BMW booked in for around 6 weeks (due to being extremely busy of late) and was really looking forward to it as this particular BMW 330ci was in an usual purple colour (metallic techno violet) and also sported some aftermarket carbon fibre panels - plus it was boosted up to just under 300bhp!!!

The owner said the car needed a machine polish to remove lots of swirls and scratches it had picked up and also wanted the newly added carbon fibre waxed and protected.

The wheels were first and they were in an awful state with stubborn brakedust encrusted onto the chrome. Meguiars APC, a clay bar and AutoGlym Tar Remover rejuvenated the wheels and they were topped up with two coats of Chemical Guys Wheel Guard and Meguiars Last Touch which made them bling!!!

The car suffered from some very minor swirlmarks although there were loads of random scratches all over and although the paint was rock hard it was relatively thin. Correction was achieved using Menzerna IP PO85RD 3.02 followed up by Menzerna FF PO85RD on a 3M compound and polish pad respectively (with the Metabo Rotary). The car corrected quite well although some stubborn RDS remained. Machine polishing was done within 8 hours and around 85% correction was achieved which the owner and I was pleased with considering the state of affairs. The light clusters were also severely scratched and clouded over and a polish with the PC7424 using the FF PO85RD on a polishing pad cleaned them up superbly well.

The owner was after optimum and long-lasting protection although he also wanted a premium highend wax. So a coat of Jetseal109 was applied followed by two coats of Swissvax BoS seperated by 12 hours and the finish was fantastic. All chrome trim was finished with Meguairs NXT Metal Polish which left it very clean and shiny.

The owner was absolutely over the moon with the finish and is hoping to book his girlfriend's rather lovely 2004 BMW Z4 in white for a full correction shortly (I wish I took a photo of the Z4 in white because it looked awesome - even with all the swirlmarks).
