Kevin Detailed: 00 S2K Turbo!

Alright so, today, I detailed my friends S for him. I arrived at about 8:30 and did my initial inspection. After that, I realized I had my work cut out for me. The turbo really makes the rear end dirty. The paint had some scratches on it. Most were removed or minimized but not all. I would have had to do a wetsand. I didn't bring the sandpaper so, I just had to do with what I had. I will end up doing a wetsand on a later date along with the inside. But, overall the car turned out great! So, enough reading. Let's get to the process and photos.

Process in order:
Wheels:
Cleaned with P21s wheel gel and various brushes
Wash:
Car washed with ONR & dried with microfibers
Car then pulled into the garage and clayed via:
Meguiar's Mild clay bar
ONR Clay lube
Polishing:
SIP via LC Orange pad
SIP via LC Yellow pad on certain areas
Super Finish via LC White pad
Meguiars Show Car Glaze via LC Red pad
Wax:
Collinite Insulator Wax 845
Meguiars NXT 2.0 for wheels
Door jambs waxed with NXT 2.0 also
Tires shined with Adams VRT
Windows cleaned with Stoners Invisible glass

That just about sums it up.

[b]By the way, my friend will be posting up better during and after shots later. I used his camera and it is at his house right now so be patient.

But, to hold you off, here you go:

Befores:

Wheels During and After

After wash:

Claying:
after doing the hood

After Polishing:

After Polishing the tip:

And Final Product:

Thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed. And don't forget, more pics coming soon!

Kevin

Good clean up but I don't get the blue lugnuts?? Looks very off to me and throws off the entire car.

Thanks. But, it matches the exhaust tip?? I don't know. I could see your argument on that but, the turbo makes up for everything! This car is pretty much a beast!

Re: Kevin Detailed: 00 S2K Turbo!

it's the fart can that makes the rear so dirty along with whatever programming he has making the car run rich. I bet it's a beast nonetheless.

great job man! I've heard some horror stories with the paint on those.

Yeah. The SIP did work on the headlights. They aren't perfect but, they are a lot better as you can see on the new pics! But, yeah, they could still use a wetsand.

Re: Kevin Detailed: 00 S2K Turbo!

Funny, I just did a 02 on Saturday for my friend, same color, and it was a beast too. He took me out for a spin after I was done, and that AP1 can move! We had it up to 117 in 4th gear. Said he's taken it to the track and had it topped out at 161...

The paint on this his was a bit weird too. Lot's of bad bad bad bad touchups. I have to help him do the paint chip filling, and then wet sand and polish again sometime.

And 106FF did a really great job taking the swirls out on the one I did. Surprising you had to go to a yellow pad.

Fantastic detail but definitely prefer these in the red paintwork.

I'm also liking the blue wheel nuts.

Great work. The second round of pics really shows off what you were able to accomplish.
