I thought I would give you guys a look at some leather refinishing.
Here is a 1999 Lincoln Town Car that is used by my customer's wife. She uses it transport two kids around. The seats were more trashed than I imagined. It was also compounded by the fact that I agreed to fix the driver's door panel. I spent way to long on the door panel. Anyway, it was mostly refinishing as there were only a couple of repairs that needed to be made. It was so bright outside that some of my pics are washed out. I would have taken more pics, but unfortunately I took my shirt off and received a little sunburn.
I started with a complete leather cleaning followed with some sanding. I then mixed up the color using my color computer. At first, I thought the color was different on the front than on the back of the seats. After cleaning, I was wrong. Next step was spraying on the base coat and then the top coat.
The products that I used are my leather cleaner, Craftsman sander with 220 paper, leather stripper and spray gun.
Gecko,
I will put this out there for everyone. In the Bay area, I know of two companies. One is Advanced Leather Solutions. The other is Tom Hatfield out of Modesto. I can't remember his company name now, but I can find his number for you. If anyone else needs to know of an interior guy, then ask. I know or used to know a lot of people across the country.
Wouldn't you know it, this guy called me back and said their was an issue on one of the seats. Sure enough, there was a small spot that I missed on the passenger seat. I had kept some color knowing that I would probably get a call back from this guy. I sprayed the area and was surprised at how much lighter the color was. I decided to take a wet rag and wipe the seat down. Needless to say, the seat was extremely dirty. I went around to the drivers seat and wiped off the bolster and it was damn near black. I couldn't believe him and his family could get the seats this dirty in such a short time.
