Z06, 335 coupe, LR3, M3

2007 Chevy Corvette Z06. Cleaned it up a couple years ago after another detailer hacked it up with a rotary. Since then, I polish and wax it 3-4 times a year. Nice to see when I got there the owner had washed it recently so it didn't take me long to get it clean. Also nice to see it was relatively swirl and marring free. Used my Meguiars G110 with Optimum Compound (new version) with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad. Followed with Pink Moose plus (Clearkote's Vanilla Moose, Red Machine Glaze and a 3rd light polish that I'm not revealing), again with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad. Sealed with Clearkote's Carnauba Moose as requested by my customer. Okay, he actually didn't request it by name but said he wanted me to use the same wax I used the last time, which was CMW. Said he really likes how "black" it makes his paint look.

Oh yeah, since I'd seen the car last, he got his long tube headers and changed cams, so I shot a video for y'all. Sorry about the wind noise the last 10 seconds or so, it was really nasty today.

=============

2008 BMW 335i Coupe. Really excellent condition overall. Other than some light to moderate swirls on the trunk lid, the rest of the car looked like these next two BEFORE pictures:

I went over the trunk lid with the G110/yellow/ Optimum Compound combo (like the Z06), followed by Optimum Finish using another yellow Meguiars polishing pad with both the rotary at 1200-1000 rpms (didn't see any holograms) and the G110. The rest of the car got the G110/Optimum Polish II/yellow and OF with the yellow Meguiars pad and the G110. I knew the car would be in the shade by the time I finished so I took a few shots of the car as I was using Optimum Finish.

This picture show the amount of Optimum Finish you need per section:

After polishing, I followed with Carnauba Moose.

Re: Z06, 335 coupe, LR3, M3

2008 Land Rover LR3. Owned by the son of one of my long term regulars, who after 14 years as a customer, retired and moved to Santa Fe. His son was in town and wanted his new LR3 cleaned up before he went back to Santa Fe. Overall it was in decent shape. Used Optimum Polish via G110 with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad, followed by Optimum Poli-Seal with a yellow Meguiars pad. Waxed with Wolfgang Fuzion. Optimum Protectant Plus on the plastic trim.

==============

2003 BMW M3. Detailed it about 3 years ago, hadn't seen it until this past week, even though I detail cars for other members of his family yearly. He said he hadn't been driving it much...looked like he hadn't been washing it much either. Took quite a bit of claying with a white Meguiars clay bar as I washed the car with ONR. The paint really needs some deep polishing but the owner's brother-in-law was only paying for a basic (1 polishing step) detail. Optimum Polish with a yellow Meguiars polishing pad did a nice job cleaning up the paint and minimizing the swirls. Followed with Carnauba Moose. Interior was cleaned with Woolite/water mixture (leather and vinyl) and BioKleen's Traffic Lane Cleaner on the carpets. Vinyl dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus and leather with Leather Master's Leather Vital.

The convertible top was cleaned with BioKleen TLC and a scrub brush and rinsed with my pesticide sprayer.

really really great work ... the 335 hood shot looks uber wet ... but most of all my favorite pic is the last one .. interior of the e46 M3 is perfect .. im kind of glad most BMW customers dont take care of their car .. cause if i had to work on a M3 like that, with interior like that .. i would cover the whole interior in plastic =)

great job

Nice work Scott! How many times did you have to fill the sprayer to get a good rinse on the fabric top?

I didn't, BioKleen is VERY low sudsing.

jordanrossbell-they seem to like it a lot, but the son isn't too happy with how dusty it can be. The dad is still looking for someone to take care of his Cayenne, so far just the Porsche dealer seems interested.

Rick-very nice product. Really wet, glossy and clear looking.

Scott -

As always, the cars you detail look top-notch! It's great to see your work on here again!

I know you just commented on the new Optimum Finish, but what are your thoughts on the new Optimum Compound? Is there more cut now? Is it still "liquidy" than creamy? I'd be happy to hear your thoughts on it and anymore thoughts you may have on O.F. as well.

By the way, have you tried the new Optimum Metal Polish yet?

Re: Z06, 335 coupe, LR3, M3

I would send you a PM with this but i cant I havent heard good things about the Porsche dealership in Santa Fe. Just one isolated incident but thats all i have heard. Yes it can get dusty, things are very expensive up in Santa Fe..as compared to albuquerque, im sure if he paid for something up there he would pay twice as much as he would here in Albuquerque, seems thats the way things are up there...
