2005 Black VW Passat, first correction with the new M205

I did this vehicle a little while back, but since I'm still new to Autopia I thought I'd share some of my work...

My first correction with the new Meguiars M205 polish.

2005 VW Passat. Owner was not looking for a full correction, just wanted the interior done and a 1-step on the outside. I cleaned this car about 18 months ago but the touchless car washes have taken their toll on th paint. It was a good test to see what M205 could do on the hard VW clear coat.

Products used:
Gold Class Soap
Mild Clay
Last Touch
APC
APC+
Meguiars Glass Cleaner (Detailer Line)
Quick Interior detailer
Meguiars #40
Hyper dressing
M205
NXT 2.0

Tools:
Rotary with W8207 Polishing pad
FLEX with W9207 Finishing pad
Little Green Machine
Wet-Vac
Various brushes

Before pics....you gotta love MN winters!

Paint condition

50/50 shot, the new M205 seemed to do an excellent job removing defects for being a finishing polish. This was after the Rotary and W8207 pad. I later followed with the FLEX and W9207, which added a LOT more gloss.

Afters

Loving my new camera and tripod

Some day pics

Thanks for looking,

Rasky

Thanks!

I would say it had a little more cut than M80, but finishes down like PO85RD.

Touchless car washes doing damage? No way

The owner must have been very pleased! The car looks awesome.

Do you want to share any more thoughts on the M205? I'm curious to hear any details you might be able to share (I'm getting ready to purchase based upon the wonderful things folks have said over the past few weeks). Thanks, Rasky.

lol, I should have clarified with "auto washes" rather than "touchless". The owner has never hand washed a car in his life!

M205 is AWESOME! Hands down my fovorite polish to use right now.

-It's very easy to use, wipes off more like an LSP rather than a polish.
-Produces excellent gloss.
-Is capable of removing more defects than most finishing polishes, yet finishes down just as good, if not better than some of the best polishes out there.
-A little goes a long way.
-Great working time, not too long and not too short.
-Works great with both DA and rotary, though I REALLY like it on the Flex 3401.
-When used with M105 it eliminates the need for a middle polish.
-Seems to work very well on soft paints that would normally micro marr.

Dave KG also did an excellent review of M205 over on DetailingWorld.com. I check that out if you haven't already seen it.

Re: 2005 Black VW Passat, first correction with the new M205

I'm glad I picked this stuff up. I only dabbled with it a little but was a little distracted at the time. Looks like a customer would get their money's worth on a 1 step if 205 is used....especially when used correctly.
