1 Month Down 11 To Go....

Hey all, I had a crazy slow Jan and all of the sudden got swamped with full corrections and concourse details so I'm just now getting around to posting up January's cars.

Hope you enjoy.

First up is an 05 Maseratti Quattroporte.
I did a full correction on this car.

The Process:
Interior:
Dusted
Vacuumed
303 Wipe down
All leather cleaned and conditioned with Zaino Z10

After polishing the paint all the door jambs, nooks and crannies were wiped down to remove the dust.

Here's a couple shots of the engine bay after a simple wipe down with a damp MF towel.

After a thorough two bucket wash and claying I inspected the paint in the sunlight to find very very light swirling, it was not much at all. Previous owner cared well for her since it's barely got 10K miles on it, plus the silver grey metallic is very forgiving when it come to swirls.

My polishing process was as such.
All top surfaces recieved a two step while sides got a one step with the rotary.

Two bucket wash,
Clayed with Meg's white clay
Polished with Menz IP with White LC pad at 1500rpms
Finished down with Menz FPII with Black LC pad at 1100 and jeweled at 900rpms
Sealed with Zaino AIO and ZCS

Here's a couple afters in direct sunlight.

ah beautiful flakes

More pics to come....

Re: 1 Month Down 11 To Go....

This is a red Ferrari 360 I detailed for a high end exotic mod and maintaince shop.

It's only a very very basic detail, no polishing, no correction, just good, clean, slick and conditioned.

Basically the interior was fully dusted, vacuumed, all panels and leathers wiped down with 303 and conditioned with Zaino Z10
Door jambs got wiped down with Z8 since it leaves such an incredible slickness and shine, I love it in door jambs.

Exterior:
Two Bucket Wash,
Leaf blow dry
Paint shined with Gloss It Enhancer QD
Tires got Meg's Hyper Shine 2.5:1 ratio
Rim lips got Dirtex cleaner

Results

Re: 1 Month Down 11 To Go....

Next up is an 09 Black GT-R

Process on the interior is exactly the same as on the previous two.

The interior is not actually as white as it looks, the flash from the carmera really makes it look white, but it's actually a very pale light grey.

Exterior
Two bucket wash
Clayed with Meg's white clay
Leaf blow dry
Polished with Zaino AIO with LC white pad with PC
Z5 and ZCS in later visits

Pictures may not look so great due to the lateness

More F cars and P cars to come, but I've got to finish an NSX in my garage right now before tomorrow......

Nice work, Josh! Being swamped with those doesn't seem to be so awful

There certainly are advantages to living in the southern states. Nice work, Josh. Is that an inline-6 on the Quattroporte?

Thanks, It was actually a really slow month in Jan, I'm just now starting to get busy again. I'm not done posting up, got a few more to share, just will have to wait a few more hours.

If I'm not mistaken, it a V block with 8 cylinders. If you look closely you can see the red valve covers on either side which would indicate the V block. It sounded nice when I cranked it anyways.....

I still have more cars too post up about, just been busy and will get to them later today.
Josh

Re: 1 Month Down 11 To Go.... GTR, Ferrari, Maseratti....etc...

Here's another full correction I did on an 07 F430.

The owner wanted absolute perfection and we didn't get it all finished in one day so I'll have to go back on my next trip to Houston to finish it off.

After washing and inspecting in the sun there really was not any swirls, only buffer trails all over the car.

Tail end

Hood

It's hard to see but there are holograms in the roof here.

Driver front fender

Understanding that the only type of correction needed here is finishing down someone elses work along with Ferrari paint being on the soft side my process was:

Wash,
Leaf blow dry
Rotary with black finish pad and Menz FPII at 1200rpms and jeweled at 900.

I did a test section then backed out into the sun for inspection, I taped off the car right after I tested.... opps

There was a spot of burned paint on the hood that was done by the previous person who buffed the car, we made sure to tape it off since the paint would be extra thin there.
This is why you inspect the paint first

Burned paint taped off to ensure safety.

It turned out well, the sun was in a different place 5 hours later so the angles are different.

After I did the correction/finishing down of the paint, Jason (mobilejay) followed up behind me with some Optiseal.

Basically this was an easy one, we just washed it, did a final polish and sealed it.

Some afters

Of course we cleaned up the interior a bit too and gave the engine bay a good wipe down.

Glamour shots to come
