Finally got a weekend to work on my own!!

'08 was such a great year for my business that I never really had a chance to work on my own vehicles. I had this last weekend open so I took advantage and worked on the Tundra. I still don't have anything booked for next weekend so it looks like I am gonna get to do our Accord too!!

The last time I did anything "real" with the Tundra was back in late '07 ( I think) and I am sure that I used DG105 and have followed up with multiple coats of AW during the year. I was very happy to see that it help up fairly well. The only issues I had were with the water spots. We have really hard water here and, when the truck is iced over in the mornings, I have to hose it down so that I can see and it spots up. But they seemed to polish out easily!

Process

Wheels
Prespray w/P21 wheel gel
EZ Detail brush
Topped w/ DP Paint Sealant

Tires
Presoak w/Megs DG
Topped w/ OB

Wells
Megs DG
OB
Paint
Wash w/DG 902
Clay a few horizontal spots using DP Clay
Opti Seal
DWG
AW (the next day)

Interior
vacuumed
wiped down with woolite water
a few spots on the carpet were taken care of with Folex

Glass
Ext. got same as paint
Int. Got IG

Very sweet looking Tundra, it's so nice to be able to have a free weekend to do your own isn't it?

Re: Finally got a weekend to work on my own!!

The truck looks good. Just noticed a bit of dust still in the wheel... Right in the lip where the wheel weights mount (unless it is peeling). I know this a common area of collection as I work as a detailer at a Toyota dealer. (I am one of the autopian car dealership detailers, one of the most rare unheard of detailers around, not a scratch inducer).
