Dont use carnauba wax, I used Gloss Finish sealant 2x topped with Concourso Polish (a type of topper sealant) both from gloss it.

The sun shots were post polishing with no LSP, wish the sun came out for the final pics as well. I did not get any micormarring or holograms on this car because I kept refining the finish on low RPM with the soft blue LC pad but then again it was metallic black and not flat. Ive found that even on the softest of black (BMW for example) that if you have good technique and really jewel the finish towards the end of correction on low rpm you will really minimize hologramming and micro marring, but of course sometimes its inevitable. I also used EVP as a pad lubricant so that extended my work time of the product quite a bit, this hekps to cut down on micromarring and holos.

Thanks for all the kind words guys

Thanks Brandon. I actually was going to buy this exact model and color a few months ago but backed out at the last minute. After detailing it, I do feel a bit of buyers remorse.

so if ultrafina didnt do anything for the paint as you stated, why even use it? why not use something like menzerna FPII? I always finish down with FPII now on every multi-step detail

nice man! subaru used really crappy paint on these cars. I know because I have one! I need to stock up on this stuff because every 2008 sti you see will have swirls and crap like that.

I use UF because it works consistently well on all finishes. After the initial correction I was left with some micro-marring, mind you I was using a medium polish on a fairly soft pad with a cyclo. That combo rarely leaves me with any micro marring so I decided I needed to follow up with something that would certainly leave a clean, mar free finish.

UF IMO adds very little if anything to a paint finish so I used the EVP prime on a blue lake country pad to really jewel the finish. UF on its own has a pretty long work time but with the EVP I was able to jewel the finish for several more minutes and vary rpm without building a ton of heat. I enjoy finishing with the rotary anyway. Essentially I was removing minimal amounts of CC over a long period of time (the proprietary oils in the EVP disperse heat on the finish) so I want left with perfectly leveled paint both swirl and hologram free. Th result I found was quite dramatic after polishing.
