Honda Civic Oxidation meets Got_Leather

Did this detail for a customer who has had the car for about a year now. The passenger side and most of the rear were faded and had no color left. The rest of the car was in average shape. This car also has a B18C swap. (GSR Motor) Bolt-ons, tune, clutch, flywheel, etc. It's pretty quick but nothing too special. From start to finish it took me about 11 hours roughly.

When the car first arrived, I noticed it had alot of sap, bugs, etc which required a really thorough clay bar to remove. About 1 hour was spent washing and claying before any other steps.

I would like to thank Eric (Howareb) for allowing me to work at his shop and lending a hand.

Process was...

Wash

Clay

Hi-Temp Extreme Cut via Purple Wool @ 1200-1700-1200 RPM's - 2-3 passes on the oxidized areas.

Meguiars # 83 Dual Action Cleaner Polish via orange pad @ 1200-1500-1200 RPM's on the oxidized areas.

Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze via white pad @ 1500 RPM's to ENTIRE car. This step removed a good amount of swirls and scratches from the rest of the paint and really brought the paint back to life.

Chemical Guys EZ Cream Glaze was applied via black 3M pad with PC @ Speed 6

Then, for some protection I lightly applied Opti-Seal to all surfaces via foam applicator.

Lastly, I gave the car a final wipe down with Optimum Car Wax.

only on the passenger side. you can see here, its almost right in the half where the oxidation starts.

Did a small spot for the customer to see what the final product would look like...

Up close look of the oxidation.

Re: Honda Civic Oxidation meets Got_Leather

Pulled the car into the shop

After doing a little compounding. This area took multiple steps.

After the compounding step, I have this..

Making sure every inch is brought back to life..I even took off the stock spoiler to get the areas affected under it..

Pads got red really quick

A little side by side after compounding only..

Where did all the defects go???

Next Day

Thanks for looking,
DJ

Holy hell! Great save.

I'm curious too...what did the owner have to say?
