Black 06 M45 - hardest paint ever, by far!

Full paint correction was the order of this detail.

I assumed when I looked at the car last sunday that 14 to 16 hours would do the trick. HA!

2 of us worked from 10:30 am Saturday until 7am Sunday morning. We did take 2 pretty short breaks to eat.

Here is the story:

Me and Cleaning fool gave the car an ONR wash

We both clayed it with a clay magic bar - this is just from the small trunk

Next we taped everything off.

Now it was time to take a closer look at what we were really dealing with - once you open the hood and read that baby sign inside that says: HARD CLEAR, boy they really meant HARD CLEAR - everything you ever experienced is out the door. (at least in my case)

Re: Black 06 M45 - hardest paint ever, by far!

After taking pictures, I thought maybe I should see the thickness just in case. This was one of the higher numbers, except for the hood, that was "normal" with numbers in the 120s - 130s. Also the left rear fender was better where howareb sanded a bit.

We are starting to make some progress

HARD WORK ALWAYS PAYS OFF - HOW ABOUT SOME 50/50?

I MEAN REAL 50/50!!!

SAY WHAT????

Re: Black 06 M45 - hardest paint ever, by far!

At this point (6:30am Sunday morning) I just want to go home but I had to take a few finished pictures for AUTOPIA. Sorry no outside or sun shots, but it was very cold!!!!!

I know some people will think that the swirls were not really removed and that they will be back in a few months, but at least until then, try to enjoy these pictures.

Looks absolutely awesome. Gotta love freshly and properly polished out black paint...

So what was the process, and what were the products aside from M105 and PFW?

Re: Black 06 M45 - hardest paint ever, by far!

First of all great shop! And what a fantastic correction job... talk about RIDS, my word! Excellent job all around, the PFW on the Flex is a nice combo too. I remember Bob from AC did a black M45 and he said the cc was impossibly sticky. Guess Infinity paints are unpredictable. Oh well, again super job and those are some mighty impressive 50/50's, I'd put those in a nice portfolio book to show to prospective customers.

Lots of = result
