Black Nissan 350Z

This guy contacted me a while ago and, because I was already booked out a month or so he very patiently waited and this was his weekend!

I have always loved these cars and was really looking forward to working on one....and.....to finally see if I actually fit in it! LOL!!

Pretty normal swirling for a black car. He applies the two bucket method and has tried to keep up with it using Zaino products. Had some sap on the spoiler that he couldn't get off. I got it off but it left some etching.....but not much I could do about that. Didn't want to do any sanding on the spoiler........ya never know how thin the paint is gonna be!

Process

Wheels
Pretreat w/ P21s Gel
EZ Detail brush
Top w/DP Paint Sealant
Tires
Megs DG
Dressed w/OB
Paint
Wash w/Dawn
Dry w/leafblower
Clay w/DP clay
106ff w/white CCS
Danase Paint Sealant
DWG
Danase Paint Sealant
Interior
Vaccuumed
Wiped down w/DP Interior Protectant
Glass
Exterior polished w/KAIO
Topped w/AW
Interior got IG
Headlights
These just had a very little hazing on them. Customer asked if I could take care of it.
106ff w/white CCS
Topped same as paint

Re: Black Nissan 350Z

Thanks for taking care of my Z. I'll do my best to prevent those swirls from returning. I can't wait to see how the Explorer will turn out after you work on it.

Re: Black Nissan 350Z

Wow great work making that black paint flawless! Looks like the passenger floor mat is upside down in the after pic.

Re: Black Nissan 350Z

Really nice job, looks swirl free in the afters.

I've found that typically, black Nissan/Infiniti paint is pretty soft, but I've run into a couple with really hard paint. What was Z's paint like?

Re: Black Nissan 350Z

Thanks for the comments guys!!

I don't think the rims are factory. Maybe the owner can chime in if he looks here again.

Scotttwax: It was softer than I thought it would be. I started out with and orange CCS and SIP and was leaving micromarring. So I backed off to a white CCS w/106ff and it worked perfectly!! I was also havign issues with having a hell of a time getting the polish off once it was worked in. I finally relaized that I was using WAY too mch product!! Went to a few little drops on the pad per panel and it worked a heck of a lot better!!

Those rims do not come stock on any model. The Nismo Z has these:
