How to have fun in a junk yard

I was recently at a junk yard looking for some parts and came across this hood. I thought that it would be fun to see what kind of sine I could get in it. So here it is.

Before:

This is after the fist step using Car Care Rx heavy cutting compound with a black wool pad on about 1400 rpm

This is after the second step with medium compound and a yellow foam pad at 1400 rpm

This is after the third step with Car Care Rx "The Polish" using a green foam pad at 1300 rpm

This is after the fourth step using Prep Glaze by Car Care Rx with a blue foam pad and the buffer set at 1300 rpm

This is after the fifth and final step. I used Grape Glaze by Car Care Rx with a white pad and the buffer set at 1200 rpm.

This is the finished product. (the white dots you see are rock chips)

Very cool, I did the same thing, well sorta. I took a old mustang hood and sanded it down and painted it then buffed it out because mine had a nice size dent in it.

Cool test if all the pictures had DIRECT sun like the very last one did. So the 3rd picture all the way to the last one look the same.

Re: How to have fun in a junk yard

I love browsing through junkyards, never know what you'll find. I need to find a hood, door, trunk lid or something to polish up on my rotary skills, no pun intended.

Color looks great! Never heard of Car Care products, the name that is

EDIT: I haven't had a great day, and I feel that was wrong to say... I apologize. Looks fun

Here are some other angles of the pictures with the reflection of the sun in them.

Very nice! How much did they charge you for the hood?

Re: How to have fun in a junk yard

$25 is a great deal considering the cost of a damaged panel.
