I am using the blue Ultrafina pad. I buy them from my local supplier for $15 each.
PresdntialDtail-wasn't that fast. 7 hours or so. Washing with ONR definitely saves a lot of time, especially between polishing steps. I was lucky that #105 was cutting out the swirls as fast as it did without having to go to a more aggressive pad. I don't take nearly as many pictures as a lot of y'all do either. Can be tough anyway if you are relying on the sun on a partly cloudy day like most days I work are. Simply not going to wait on the clouds to move to get the shot. I figure a few to show the befores and after are enough.

Even with that said, you are still super fast! haha! But yeah M105 works pretty quick, so I suppose you could get around a car pretty quick. Id like to talk to you soon about a few things to do with ONR..Im still not confident enough with it to use it right after I spent so many hours polishing! Im hoping you can guide me the right way to get that confidence back up!
PS. I just ordered UK UF and 3m pads! Cant wait!

Re: Black AMG E63
Scott if you get a chance, can you videotape yourself doing a panel with the rotary especially for a 4 step like this? I'm having trouble finishing down paints (I did a black e500). I felt like I didn't work it in enough.
Amazing job on the car. I'm surprised you didn't use SIP for this.

Re: Black AMG E63
When my older son is here next week, maybe I can have him make a video of me working #105 and UF. The key with #105 is moving the rotary 2" or so per second with 50% overlapping strokes, similar to how you'd use a PC to remove defects. Let the rotary do the work. I've also found that the 8006 Meguiars polishing pad works amazingly well with #105 and I rarely go past about 1200-1400 with it. A few time I need to use wool but not very often.

I pretty much use it as in the couple of videos I have posted. I was certainly aprehensive the first time I used a rinseless wash as well but once I got the hang of it (took a couple of washes), I never wanted to go back to doing conventional washes unless absolutely necessary.

Re: Black AMG E63
Very nice work Scott. I've been using M105 lately as well and have to say it's the best compound I've ever used. Cuts extremely quickly and finishes to an almost LSP finish with PFW and the rotary. Scott have you tried the PFW with M105 yet? On black paint, hard or soft, it finishes out almost perfect with only a hint of trailing. I follow it with 106FA on a finishing pad with stunning results. Yup that's right a two step process only. Anyways, fantastic work as usual Scott.

Re: Black AMG E63
Scott,
Anything I would say would just be repetitive here. I too would love to see some video of you working with 105...it would be very educational for rookies and veterans alike. You've definitely inspired many of us...
